Happened to me alot...
All you have to do is close up the path with the entrance.
Use different paths, if your desired path cannot be closed, it is best to try a different path.
What you are doing is leading him into a gap, which causes the glitch. |

I'll send you a patch. It has to do with how Mario enters a submap in the overworld. It glitches out a bit, he goes along the path, but goes off and... just download it. |
