*sighs* I predicted the result of this poll before I even clicked on the link. You know why? Well does anyone see a "Sonic Series" forum? Or a "Sonic Hacking" forum? Exactly, Acmlm's has always has a Nintendo bias, which is a shame, because Sonic Kicks arse.
Yes, I love Mario too (Super Mario All Stars is the epitome of platform gaming for me), but Sonic oozes sytle for me, and the speed of course. Plus Sonic CD has the best soundtrack of any platform game ever made. Period. |

That game was awesome. I always had demos though, never actually played full version.
I voted Mario. Sonic was fun on Sega. Mario Was fun on NES and SNES. It has gone down since then. They both varied too much from the original. They didn't do 3D Mario or 3D Sonic. They did 3D Plumber and 3D Hedgehog. |

hmm...i'd have to go for Mario over sonic, it was my first game so you have to vote sentiment 
anyways, sonic is just as good as mario but like i said, mario wins because of sentiment  |

I would have to pick Mario because I have always been a Nintendo fan more than Sega and that Mario games have more variety and Mario games aren't boring at all compared to some Sonic games I have played in the past. |

The first game I ever played, besides Pong, was Mario Brothers. I actualy only played a Sonic Game for the first time on the game gear. In general, I just like Mario's games more than Sonic's games. |

I would say that on the old classic games... Both were about the same, because you did pretty much the same, just different character design... (Though, mario did have some of his fun powerups on the SNES)...
But when it comes to 3D, MArio kicks Sonic's arse... 3d mario games involve exploration, using special moves, getting funky powerups... 3d sonic games, such as sonic Heroes, are basically 'Hold up on the D-pad, and time your jump and attack correctly' game... In my opinion, it doesn't deserve the 'platformer' status... So as you can probably tell now... I prefer Mario over Sonic . |

I grew up with the old Mario games and had an real NES and SNES, never had a sega and Sonic at the time until emulation became available way later on, so my vote goes directly to Mario. |

Never thought of it that way...
I myself am going to vote for Mario, due to the length in the games over Sonic games, more variaty, much better multiplayer, and well I grew up originally playing Mario.
Not that Sonic is bad at all, but when it comes down to this, Mario is supreme. |
