I had the same problem with Morrowind. I bought the Game of the Year edition because I heard it fixed one of the stupid bugs where it would get DDE (Dirty Disc Errors) every 5 minutes if there were too many dead corpses. But it still gets DDEs, especially when I change directions really fast.

Yes, but it was the CD, everytime I got a CD from that shop it was totally scratched and such, they get the CDs out of their cases and aren't very careful with them. That's why I demanded they'd leave the box original and that one did work.

Dude...if he had to call more than once (he called twice) and get shit that many times...then something's not right.

I've had the exact same problem when I first went to get Halo Just that I didn't call tech support, I just kept bringing back the game until I got a working one.

I wonder, did you try to call again? You maybe could get a better chanche the next time. You probably won't get the same person, and you hopefully won't get another jackass.

I hadn't heard of any cases of consoles or CD drives themselves causing scratches to a disc. I wonder how common it is.

...it wouldn't surprise me if that person is already fired. If he isn't, she deserves it. (I wonder how she got the job in the first place...)

If it's anything like the job I had with telephones...they've got everything recorded for any person that ever calls...and they should monitor them like...daily...or at least very close to that.

If you have the means, I'd email him back telling him where exactly you went in terms of the calls and the date/time you did it so they can figure out what went wrong...more than likely it's lameasses on the phones...I've seen it in phone jobs...they just bullshit their way through it and eventually get fired.

...don't post in my threads Kyouji. There's plenty other for you to spam and get onto the ACS in.

I didn't get her name. It wasn't stated, just a recorded message, I hit the corresponding button, and then Hi what's the problem.

It hadn't crossed my mind. Probably because he never mentioned it in this thread. I would've gotten it immediately had I known his screen name but as it stands I've never had a reason to want to contact him, and thusly, I've never had a reason to check what his AIM screen name is, so... Anyway, he could've cleaned it up pretty easily v_v

...

You do realize that he copied and pasted a convo that he used in AIM right? Under his screen name? Hello?

Wait. Why are both people on tech support "toxic avenger6?" I can make out what happened pretty well, but that's rather confusing.

You get the name of whoever that shithead was? Someone needs out of a job, bad.

Course it's always fun dealing with lame tech support...but most times tech support deals with lamers...so the smart ones get lost in the shuffle and they rarely, if ever, care.

Here's the story. Some time in the last few months, I bought MVP baseball 2004. It was fun, yadda yadda, but after a little while I got "Can't read the disc, maybe dirty or damaged." It got so bad that I couldn't get past the menu.
Well, I figured my brother did it, so I made him buy me a new one. That was at the start of June. Here it is in July, and the past 2 weeks I have been getting the read error message. the new version of MVP has been taken out of the box, and gone straight to the case. Nothing that would promote scratches or anything. At the bottom of it are circular scratches, and scratches in general. I KNOW it wasn't me or my brother.

So I emailed Xbox and got this letter

Hello John,
Thank you for writing to Xbox regarding your disc reading issue.

We suggest that you contact us through phone so we can properly diagnose the problem. You can reach us at 1-800-4MY-XBOX (1-800-469-9269). Phone support is available 7 days a week, from 9AM to 1AM EST. The call is toll free in North America.

If by any chance your Xbox needs to be serviced, your Xbox will be required to be registered. Please have your Xbox serial number ready (it is located on a silver sticker under your Xbox), and this ticket number (165713308) for reference.

In case you have other Xbox concerns, feel free to write back. We take feedback on Xbox and our Customer Service very seriously and review customer comments daily.

Sincerely,
Alvin

So I call the number, and this is what happened

toxic avenger6: hello?

So I sent an email back to my pal Al.

Dear Al,

I can call you Al right? Well, guess what. I don't care.
I called your nice little tech support number, and got hung up on twice. Maybe you have more important clientelle or something, but when the next generation of consoles comes out, I for one will NOT be investing in Microsoft.
