As I recall, it was the entire shipment, although I don't think the shipment itself was all that big. I could be wrong though.

That's good... I ordered through an online shop, so that would've been a big hassle if I ended up needing to return something

Are you serious??? An entire shipment?!?

Those two were probably from a bad batch.

I can't recall that FFT bug though. Did it only affect a small number of games or pretty much an entire huge shipment?

I got to Tyson...don't remember if I ever actually beat him, though I think I did.

Nighthawk: You don't have to worry about it (Although the collections in Europe are a bit different). It affected FF Chronicles, the North American version. The Final Fantasy IV disc had some troubles loading on PSONes (Though CJayC of GameFAQs had two copies fail to load on ANY PS system).

Still not as funny as the rerelease of FFTactics, where they put the wrong region encoding on the disc, causing the first shipment of North American discs to simply not boot. At all. On any system.

I, sadly, never beat the third round of Punch Out!

Yeah, I think the games were better before. Come on, you all remember the games golden age...

I love Punch Out. I love the moment when you becomes a champion...

Problem? What kind of problem?
That doesn't sound good, since I already ordered the 2 collections I just mentioned
Did it effect the American version, European version, or both?

VJ2 is gonna be on PS2 as well, though.

Which kinda pisses me off, as I unlocked infinite "V" energy for everyone but Captain Blue, and unlocked every secret character, and I don't want to do it again on the PS2 version T_T

Although the thought that Dante is just a skin for Alastor and that they aren't really any different has crossed my mind.

And then soon after they're releasing VJ2 for the GameCube. So it all balances out.

It's just for the gamecube at the moment, but they're soon going to be releasing an "upgraded version" for the PS2.

Ah, another problem... I don't have any consoles where I live right now

I'm getting a PS2 because I want the FF games (Origins & Anthology especially), but at the moment my only consoles are back in the States (NES and Genesis).

So, is that game only for the Gamecube, or is there a PC version as well?

Here's info on Viewtiful Joe.

Basically, your character is a movie nut who, when watching a movie with his girlfriend, has one of the movie villians reach out of the screen and take his girlfriend, and then you get pulled in to the screen and get movie-based superpowers. Sure, it's crazy, but it's also crazy-fun. For example, you can zoom in in order to make your attacks more damaging through showing the damage more clearly, as well as striking a pose so viewtiful all your opponents tremble, and you can slow down time to make helicopters' blades slow down so they fall, dodge bullets, and of course put emphasis on your attacks to make them more damaging, and you can speed up time to go places faster and to deal several hits very fast... It's all so fun...

Whatever games I can find that look interesting... problem is, I live in Europe, and we don't always get the good games when other places do
And I've never even heard of Viewtiful Joe....

Maybe if I still lived in the States I'd have a different opinion, but....

Oh well... at least *I'll* be able to buy the uncensored version of the new Leisure Suit Larry game when it comes out, unlike the people in the States who'll get a slightly watered-down version

At least with the games I've played lately, it seems that graphics & sound are the only things that have gotten consistently better. Gameplay seems to have stagnated, and most plots feel very contrived these days....

And yeah, there's definitely some nostalgia going on there, but that's the way I see things currently... exactly how much of it is nostalgia, I don't really know.

I like the original better because the port had different graphics that I wasn't used too. Duh :p

Here is my opinion:

Oops! ... it's the same as NSNick's! ... I should have posted earlier! Anyway... to keep this from being spam...

Yes, the old games' quality is often inflated... and sometimes, it is inflated to HUGE proportions... so huge that, sometimes, I can't believe it's THAT inflated.

But it's not the quality inflation that is the worst... the worst is this:

For exemple, we get Super Mario Bros 3. People says that it's "TEH B35T GAM3 3V3R!"

Nintendo release it, years later, with updated GFX, sound, extra levels, extra features... and people says that it sucks and that the original was better.

My reaction to cases like this: WTF?

I didn't know they made rose-colored glasses that fit people.

Everyone likes older games better because of the nostalgia attached to them. That's not to say they aren't really awesome games, but their quality is inflated. That being said, I just so happen to also be wearing rose-colored glasses. Yay old school!

I'm not about this. For every good old game, there's a good new game.

Half Life, Halo, Call of Duty, Starcraft, Warcraft, GTA3, etc.
