I found out the problem.. I had a XviD codec that was screwing things up. It's weird because all those files were XviD Mpeg-4's. |

Uninstall ALL DivX and XviD codecs, and install FFDShow 2004.
This might not help you, but it helped me with some movie playback problems. FFDShow 2004 is DivX and XviD compatible. |

Run your file through a program that will report to you what codecs the file requires. A good one can be found here: AVICodec |

Either you codecs aren't good or your movies are broken. But you can test BsPlayer get it here |

Ever think that you might be missing a certain audio codec that those files are using? Sometimes even running a file through Winamp (ew...just...ew...) won't be able to pick it up and it won't play at all.
I'd see if you could run it in Windows Media Player and see if it can't DL the correct audio codec...sometimes that will be enough to make it run with WMP's auto-DL. If not...I would get some sort of video editor and take a crack at it but that would be overkill in your case, not mine. |

As I said, I wasn't sure if it was the exact copies of the files.
My only other guess would be perhaps they have additional software they're not telling you about. Besides that, I'm stumped. |

Yes, all other DivX files work. But if the files are corrupt, then how could they work on the other computers? |

You sure that those EXACT COPIES of the Files work? It's possible yoyu got some corrupt downloads. Other than that, maybe something else is conflicting with the DivX codec...
Do any other DivX files work? |

Nope. Doesn't work for me. The files I'm talking about are episodes 3-4 of Samurai Champloo and ALL the episodes of Shin Getter Robo 2004. You can look for them at www.animesuki.com under 'Releases'. |

I always use Winamp too, the DivX players are usually pretty crappy. Winamp is much nicer. *Coby pets Winamp |

Winamp seems fine with DivX. At least, it works for me. |

For some reason, there are certain files on ANY DivX player that I am not able to play. However, on my siblings' computers, these same files work fine. I have downloaded the same exact programs as them(DivX Player 2.5 w/Codec 511), however, nothing changes. I have also removed my existing player and redownloaded the one that they use. I also used other DivX players, but I still get the same problem. It's really pissing me off. |
