The only way to have a seperate look for Luigi is to hack the SMAS+SMW version. All you can have different on SMW is the palette.
Motorcycle idea: Cool, when trying to do it, remember something about Yoshi, his GFX are done weird. I will try to describe it.

Second, what about Yoshi? My initial thoughts are to make him a motorcycle maybe, as Kunio does ride them in a couple games.
This brought my mind around to another idea... Making the fire flower so that instead of shooting fireballs, you use Yoshi's tongue. But make it still damage the enemies like the fireballs. And change the graphics (both flower and tongue) to a RCR-style chain.
