Heck, Kyouji's method is the HARD way. The easy way is to grab a tool like Corrupster, it'll mess everything up for you!
I can imagine corrupting reality though... *hits button on Corrupster* *watches an area next to him become a random assortment of cubes* I found level data!
Anyway, back on topic... I don't remember anyone mentioning it, but you CAN do simple changes between Mario and Luigi without any assembly guruship required. Rework Mario's graphics a bit to get a spare palette entry or two. Draw something new into the sprite using the palette spaces you freed up. Make those colors the same as the one of the surounding area of one character, and different in another. |

You don't need to be a good hacker to corrupt things, you just need to randomly fiddle around with code until it stops working. |

That newbie would have to be one hell of a hacker... |

Then said newbie would be IP banned, the universe would be taken down for a few days as several dozen hackers worked night and day to fix various problems. |

But what if a newbie corrupted reality? THEN WHAT, PROFESSOR?!
I'm reminded of an image I made a while back...

Nah. The ASM for reality is probably liek 12351239547325097c or something. I'd like to see someone create a point and click interface for editing reality. That'd be hella cool. |

Basically, what you'd do is hack the routine that loads each character's individual palette to also load a new set of graphics into VRAM via DMA. I'm pretty sure that's how it was done in SMAS+SMW, since Luigi's graphics are uncompressed. It was probably fairly simple. |

No, not really. All the palette data is pretty much around the same area (correct me if I'm wrong) and sprite data is somewhat different. Even if you could you'd have to expand it a little to fit what you were coding in, and redo every pointer that leads to something after that to lead to the correct spot, which'd take awhile. |

The mario and luigi sprites are different in the SMAS+World version. Aside from that, theyre only a palette change. |

i dont know asm coding but if you find the code that changes the pallete cant you just add more codes to it? |

Nope, exactly the same sprites....just a pallette change. |

I actually thought the Mario and Luigi sprites were just a bit different, in the mustache area. (And of course, the dungarees, but that can easily be altered by changing their palette) |

I realize that the Mario and Luigi sprites are the same, but would it be possible with some ASM or hex or something to add Luigi sprites? |
