If you poke around enough on Microsoft's web site, they actually have a service that'll look at your computer and suggest any driver updates it may find.

Although you're probably best off going to the manufacturer site, yes.

Go to the manufacturer's web site, you should be able to find them there. What it sounds like to me is that the game is pushing your CPU/video card too hard, causing them to overheat. Most computers (that aren't too old) will automatically shut down if they get too hot inside. It's also possible that this is causing it to draw more power than the PSU can handle, but I wouldn't really count on that. If possible, put a digital thermometer in the system with the sensor near the CPU or video card, and see if it gets significantly hotter when you're playing. (But yeah, update the drivers first. )

...Of course, if you're using a pirated version, it might be doing that on purpose. I've never heard reports of Halo doing it, but some games will shut down after a few minutes instead of right away if they detect an illegal registration or change to the EXE. (But of course, you wouldn't do that...

If you didn't do it, update your video card drivers. Make also sure not to run programs not needed are opened (only keep required system processes running, such as multiple svchost.exe in Windows XP for example).

It seems like Halo 'drives' over your system and seems to last heavily on your entire system in single player mode; are there anything major tasks inside single player mode to render inside the game ?
Make sure you also have the most recent patches; maybe it can fix your problem.

My computer runs fine all the time but when I go to play halo on it, the game will crash after 1-3 minutes. I can play it online and it doesn't crash, it only happens when I play single player. I have put the settings to what my graphics card can handle and there is no lag during those 1-3 minutes of play. After those 1-3 minutes the Computer just shutsdown completely and won't turn on for a few mins.
I played Unreal TOurnament and haven't had any trouble at all, please help me cause I want to play some HALO!

EDIT: Update, is that if I unplug it really quick after it shutsdown then I don't have to wait a few mins to power it back up. PLEASE HELP ME
