If you can't be bothered to look through HTML source, then from personal experience, you're not going to get anywhere.
There's no excuse not to, the code is right there for you.
If you can't figure out where the code for a layout begins and ends in the source, then you're going to have trouble making a layout.
Learn how to make one first, and then take it from there. |

I think he meant that does there need to be a variable set to have the text appear.. like &text& or something. Specifically for Acmlm's.
Your sample post will appear right next to the last thing you placed on your header. It will end right before the beginning of the signature. Remember, you can check your layout by viewing your profile.
It's not necessary to have a layout at all.. if you manage to lower the size of your sig, and it looks good, that would be fine. What's important is that
(a) Does it load quickly?
(b) Is the post easy to read?
Because when it comes down to it, that's all that really matters in someone's post.
edit: go for broke is slang. "do it", I guess. I'm not sure myself. XD Come on, Hiryuu! |

Only HTML...and if you're worried about textboxes...all you need to really remember is to create a TABLE in the header then a TD and leave it open...then you'll go down to the signature close the TD with /TD then close the TABLE with /TABLE.
That simple. And go for broke with whatever you plan to do in terms of making it original and whatnot. |

no u dont understand, i would not rip it off at all. i no html, i just want to see how it is made, i would not use any of their code at all. and if i did what u said, "view source," it would give me the whole page of code and it would be difficult to find the code for only the post layout |

Uhm....dude...if you want to rip off someone's code for your own...use View Source in Internet Explorer in someone's profile and go for broke.
Though, I really really don't applaud the use of it. It's called learn HTML. |

A little warning beforehand: if you're going to rip off someone's layout, don't.
You can always ask for help, but just don't copy/paste someone else's work, and especially don't leech of their bandwith.
