I always thought it was a bonus you got at the end after killing the boss. P
I think the same as Xkeeper. However, an assembly hack to make it the way Parasyte thought would be really cool!

Anyway, I agree with everyone else in that blood in normal conditions is not square, and that it'd look good if you made it not square.

A bonus to what? All they are, are numbers. Whether you get a high score or not, the outcome is the same. You go through the level, beat the boss, get his weapon, and move on. Its not like you get a special weapon or have your name in a hall of fame for getting a high score. Even though those would make great ASM hacks.

I'll see what I can do about the blood. Parasyte helped me out a little by giving me the bytes to get rid of the score. In other words, no more annoying score on the top! I honestly don't see the point to the score in that game anyway. Unless there was a hall of fame at the end of the game or something, fine. But there is no point to earning the points. What are they for?

I'm also going to attempt an ASM hack that allows Megaman to charge his Megabuster in this game. I hope I can pull it off.

Yes, the give the tiles a more blood-ish look.

i suggest changing the tiles too, instead of just putting a red pallete.

it seems cool, though

That looks more like a glitched/messed up attribute table than it does blood stains. If you want it to look like blood, you have to do more than just change the color. This is like drawing a black box on a white background and saying "hey look, it's a house!". Unless it's shaped like a house no one's going to make the connection.

That said... try actually drawing blood on the screen. And try not to make it boxy... blood doesn't always stay in a perfect square shape.

Blood? Could have fooled me! I figured you just screwed up the palette and got too lazy to change it. In other words, that looks like absolute shit.
