Okay...had the two confused apparently. I thought it was one or the other (That would make sense, hence the "Genesis" compression scheme that's sometimes talked about here). Thanks!

It was Genesis ROMS that you have to convert to .bin... |

no, you shouldn't have to, it doesn't really matter the file extension as long as it has the data. but if i'm wrong, ask in programming as well. |

Is there any special procedure you have to follow before you can start working with and hacking NES ROMs? I seem to recall having to convert one to a .bin file before you could work with it.
The reason I ask is because at some point, to try and get my programming skills back up to par, I'd like to try a simple Dragon Warrior editor wherein you can edit the costs and power of items. |
