Personally, I think that a more "snowy" look would be better for the ice world, but the new Bowser world looks even better. You do seem to be really good at the overworld.

Thank you again. Yes I think I am good at making OW's as well, not that great at level design because I try and make huge, overly active levels, when I could make simple, yet unique designs and it still be good. Anyway OW design is the best part of making a hack I think . Here is a new level I have created, I need to get the B&W BG from that level in SMB3 but can't find it in the ROM (even if I could I wouldn't know what to do after that).:

(sorry these arn't edited to get rid of the LM border)

This is the yosho's island Submap tuned to ice, I still need to change the pal on the ladder and the paths, I also need to add in some ExGFX.

This island is still undergoing pal changes, but it contain's the level in the screenshot below.

EDIT: I had a lot more pics I uploaded and had descripyions for but because my post posted itself again I lost it. Anyway the pics can be found here if you want to see them: Click here to see the pics. They are at the end of the page.

You seem to be very talented at making Overworld Maps.

Woah! I don't think Smallhacker would be too impressed by my game, lol. I havn't learnt 'anything' about custom tiles or whatever, lol.

I love your main overworld!!! and your Star Road place!!!

I think you should chance the ZSNES to... something else. I like the overworld, especially Bowser's world. I also like the piranha plants in the pipes. The level design also looks nice, except for the last background. This does look worth downloading.

Thank you very much to everyone who gave me some helpful critism. Expecially people who commented on the OW. Here are some things I have changed:

1. I made the chucks black and white to fit with the theme of the first pic. I left the BG (although not many people liked it) only because it is a forest level (doesn't look like one but it is )

2. I changed the yoshi's island submap to make it look icy, and added a lake where the ship was (the ship is still there). As soon as I learn how to insert ExGFX into the OW (please don't explain how yet) I will make the water look like ice by adding craks around the ship, and lines on the 'ice'.

3. I still haven't changed the colours of the SMB3 level yet but I will when I get around to it.

4. The crate level now has a dark cloud BG and the grass is now a ledge. I changed some stuff around in the level too.

5. The 'blue' stuff around bowser's castle was a cliff. I had it changed to red to be lava but then relized that the cliffs in vinnala dome turned red. So I just made the cliffs into land.

6. I changed the ZSNES to a different word, you will have to play (when I release a demo) to find out.

7. I can't change the lava to grey in the 5th picture because the lava and the grey blocks use the smae pallete (I can probably figure out a way though).

8. I have made some book ExGFX using ms paint, but I don't know how to get them into my game. So if someone could help me with this that would be great.

I have made a really cool level, and I will upload a pic sometime this week.

Thanks to everyone who is interested in my hack.

EDIT: Sorry to the person who thought that the first level was a forest level, but that is just a test level (much like the boss monster test room).

This is a black vs white 'unknown' level. It doesn't have a name yet.
Great palettes, the BG kinda sucks tho.

This is my overworld, I especially want to know what you think about this
It's awesome! Certainly looks very active. Please kill the level numbers though.

These are the sub maps.
Nice! The Star Road and Vanilla Dome ones especially pwn. You need to get rid of the 'ZSNES' thing, though.

This is a level from SMB3 using all SMW GFX.
Looks pretty neat. The platforms are odd, though.

I really like this level, just take a guess as to what layer 2 is...
Pudding? Nice GFX.

This is just a preview of those spikes turned into pencils. Let me know what you think
I always thought those looked like giant pencils.

A little maze like level that uses walk through crates and blue pows...
Cool, but the BG sucks.

1: Good, but you may want to use another BG.
2: Trees in the water? Take them away or change the GFX so it looks like they're coming out of the water, not standing on it. Piranhas in pipes, good.
3: More details needed. Shp on grass?
4: Reaylly good. By the way, what is that under the Bowser castle?
5: Please, make it more not-original.
6: Remove the "ZSNES" part... Write MARIO or something else...
7: Forest world. I really like forest levels so it's good that you start in one.
8: Star world, one of the best I've ever seen. And no, I'm NOT kidding.
9: Make the brown blocks darker.
10: good looking, nothing else to say.
11: Good idea. Change it so you'll be walking on books or something so it fits with the pencils.
12: The grass doesn't fit and the background looks.. well.. not good...

So, that's all from me...

I really like your black'n'white levels. My hint: Change the sprite palette to black and white too. Make all except for Mario black and white. That would be cool. Your overworld is also pretty funny.

Have fun,
Blacky.

Hmm... Looks pretty nice... The background doesn't really fit, though.

PLEASE don't show the level numbers in the screen shots! It ruins everything!
Anyway... The design looks good.

1: A sunken ship on the grass?
2: Is that blue thing around Bowser's castle water? If so, remove the lava.
3: Looks too much like the original
4: "ZSNES"? Okay... (What if you use SNES9x or whatever it's called?)
5 & 6: Looks pretty good.

The platforms and brown blocks looks just wierd...

Move mario down one block.

Great idea!

The background looks terrible.

Summary:
Looks nice, but fix the things I mentioned...

It all looks pretty cool. I am guessing the ship in the grass is there becuase the river dried up? And the held up platforms on the SMB3 level need the pallete worked on a bit. Other than that, no complaints.

The OW looks nice, but why post it with all the levels and all? That gives away all the secrets.

main overworld: very good, BUT, you should take those tree out of the water, they are bad posicioned. I also loved that you put the piranha plant sprite above a pipe in the ow, neat idea

submaps: the YI submap is a bit blandm, and is that green thing grass, swamp or dirty water? if it is grass, you should take off that ship from there.
the bowser world submap is AWESOME! no complaints, so is the forest of illusion one.
The star road is impressive, the best submap i ever saw in a hack (w00t!)

that 'zsnes' thingy at the special world sucks, get rid of that
the vanilla dome ow is fine, its nothing bad but it is also nothing awesome

This is a level from SMB3 using all SMW GFX.

very orginal, i liked it

CASTLE LEVEL W/ MARBLE ZONE TILES: it is nice, but the lava has to be red, not grey

A little maze like level that uses walk through crates and blue pows...

seems cool, but the grass ground sucks

FIRST SCREEN: why a forest bg w/ the marble zone tileset? i didnt like it, but if that is the extern part or the top of a castle, then it is fine

First Screen Shot: I like the palette...but I'm kinda biased, because I like anything with black and whites. The Chuck sprites look a bit out of place on that ExGFX though, not much the first two, but the last one.

Second Screen Shot: I like it! But why is that Koopa thing doing by Star Road 1E?

Third Screen Shot: I don't like the first submap that much. The others ones are alright...the forest one looks a bit odd to me.

Fourth Screen Shot: I really don't like that shot...lthe brown blocks look a ibt out of place, and the suspended platforms look awful.

Fifth Screen Shot: Looks intresting enough.

Sixth Screen Shot: Not that bad, actually. I don't know why you'd change them to pencils, but works, works.

Seventh Screen Shot: There's really a lot of brown..a bit too much for my opinion...kind of makes it impossible to tell what's the background and foreground.

Well, the Valley of Bowser submap looks like its flaoting in the night sky, which looks cool, in my opinion..

And the held-up platforms in the SMB3 level with SMW gfx look really bad.

Some of you may know that I have a hack called Super Super World (SSW). It is still an early hack (only about 2-3 months work) I have a bunch of levels done, but they are scattered all over the place so I will not release a demo anytime soon. Anyway I have a preview of some screenshots of my hack. Let me know what you think of it, leave some comments:
