Well, neo.. It says it doesn't apply toolbar settings, and i'm assuming that that includes status bars, but... Next time it happens i should try that, because XKeeper's method worked (I seriously thought i tried it before!) this time... Thanks for the help.. Wouldn't it be nice to add your own panels to the Common Tasks sidebar? Hmm.. No more Windows 9x-Style Customize Folder dialog.. No default folder.htt in the Web folder in the windows root.. oh well. |

Hey, did you happen to know you pwn? I've been wondering how to get that status bar to stay there. It put everything in List view too, instead of the random view styles it had before. (It assigned Slideshow view to a folder whose entire contents is 2 folders each containing nothing but .log files. ) |

Try this...
1. Go into Folder Options, View Tab, and check Remember each folder's view settings.
2. Open My computer and set the view you want.
3. Go back tino Folder Opions, View Tab, and click on 'Apply to All Folders' button and click Yes.
4. Close My Computer and open My computer again.
If this that doesn't work, then I have no idea how to help you because doing that always works for me. Then again, the only time I use that button is when I reinstall the OS...

You're right, it doesn't help.
Make sure that you open one (1) window in Explorer/My Computer/Whatever and enable those things, then close the window. Keeping more than one open tends to wreck this theroy

This is REALLY starting to bother me... I can not get my status bar or address bar to stay visible in my folders -- They normally start without a status bar, and occasionally both of them disappear (same thing with the Status bar in IE)... I know the "Apply Folder Settings blah blah" button doesn't help that, it doesn't affect toolbar settings, and i've somewhat gotten around it using the "Don't remember folder settings" option.. like, turning it off, applying all settings, turning it back on, but it just gets very annoying.... anyone shed some light on my problem? |
