That's because SMB2 originally was a game called "Doki Doki Panic".

Here's a sprited version of that little angry sun:

It's a bit small for an icon, but it could work if you took it scaled with Eagle engine enabled or something *shrug*.

The angry sun was in a few levels. There's be a sun at the top-left of the screen, and periodically he'd swoop down at you and try to kill you. If you've got SMB3 or SMAS you can go to the sand level in world 2, That's the earliest one with him I think. He's also there if you take the long route in 8-2 so you can get to there faster with miminal completion.

Oh, and change the icon of the program to the Angry Sun from SMB3. Then it'd just be badass. Other than that, I hope to see it soon.

Well, that goes for me too... the problem about N-SPC is that it was, in fact, never designed to work with very complex tracks, as the weird CallLoop system and the implementation of only a little subset of the SPC700's features prove.
The only stuff you could seriously port for now are songs from other N-SPC games and some early squaresoft or enix tracks. Sadly, we know only few about S-SPC and nothing at all about the formats Enix/Quintet (the guys behind terranigma, illusion of gaia et al.) and Taito/NoA (Lufia series) use. Crap, isn't it

Remember when I said I didn't know where DarkSlaya came up with half the stuff he posted, but it certainly had nothing to do with the topic at hand? Apply that here, but to you.

Imported? No, at least not in the near future. As yet I've seen no-one to find out how Squaresoft's SPC data format (lets call it S-SPC, analogue to N-SPC ) works. I remix it, means, I listen to it, switch off some channels, listen to it again and try to hit the tones in Solar Soundtrack.

Hmm.. SD2 music in SMW?

*forsees the Lich theme to be imported into boo battles*

Well yes,

Things I'm currently working on:
- separate track editor.
- adequate CallLoop support.
- "Pattern Partitioner" for shifting available space between tracks, adding or deleting them.
- remixing the "Star of Darkness" aka sunken island aka the debris below tree/grass/vegetable/whatsoever palace theme from SoM aka SD2. That will be probably the first to be available.

I got stuck on CallLoops for a while, that was the reason for the delay. But well, no school within the next one and a half months, so I'm quite sure I will get this ready.

Sorry for the bump, but I hope this project doesn't fade away. Blacky, take your time, but I hope you know that we're all eager for a release or at least more news .

Just let us know this isn't dead, if nothing else.

I'm assuming you mean "one of these days after it's released".

I think he means that point in the music where there is that instrument jumping all over the place in notes... It sounds like it might go as ghost music...

One of these days Im gonna play around with this thing... one of these days

Yeah, but whatchagonnado? Personally, I think the castle music fits castles well. And it doesn't have the mildly haunting tone of the ghost house music, so...

Making your own music would be better... but people like to rip than be creative. I already can see it now... Zelda music in a SMW hack or maybe Megaman X music...

Anyway, hope the editor will be released soon. I want to change some of the music to be different, such as the castle music. To me, the castle music sounds too much like the Ghost House music... but that is just me. Others might like it. I want to change it to be more... castle-like....

Sample insertion (along with BRR recompression, of course) is a feature to be added in later versions. That would only delay the release.

The question is why is Kario being questioned when what he is saying makes sense?

Hey, on this editor, can u add your own samples to it? Or will you have to make do with the instruments for the game your are editing? Eg. if you inserted Zelda music into SMW, would it be played using SMW instruments? Just a thought...
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
