No shame at all.
In the "Main & Midway Entrance" window (or the "Secondary Entrace" window, depending on if you're using one), set the "Layer 1,2 (FG,BG) Initial Position" to FG=0C BG=0C if you want the screen to start at the bottom of the Level. The FG=** sets the Screen's vertical position, and the BG=** sets the Background's vertical Position.

The Garbage-like tiles are the Game's Normal Animation Tiles, and for some reason Nintendo never removed them from the Background (they only appear if the vertiacal position is off centered, the horizontal position has no problems). To get rid of those, just mess around with BG=** (0C is what you should use in most cases; you'll need it to be 0C for Levels in which Mario starts near the bottom of the screen)

Hope that helps.

BTW, a "Secondary Entrance" is just something that allows Mario to enter the same Level at a different location (or even a different Level at a location that is different than the Main Entrance for the newly entered Level).

Example: Let's say you enter Level 105 from the OverWorld, and you take a Pipe to Level 145,.. then to get back to Level 105, you'd need to set up a "Secondary Entrance" so Mario Starts at a later area of Level 105, rather than starting back at the very begining (If he started back at the begining, then he'd be using the "Main" Level Entrance to start Level # 105 from the Overworld, but also when exiting Level # 145 and going back to Level # 105).

Hope that helps a bit .

Thanks a million!

...One other problem. Sorry

Well, I had that tile-ish looking squares in my background, I read that to get rid of it, I had to go into something from the 'Secondary Entrance' menu. I think I did something wrong, because not only did I not fix my problem, I made it bad because now whenever I enter the stage, the screen starts off up the top and as it's scrolling down, I die for no reason. There's also alot of muck-up in the background.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass *Hangs head in shame*

Open the Level Header Properties (the Mario Face in the Tool Bar), then in the second drop down list, change "No Vertical Scrol unless flying/climbing/etc." to "Vertival Scroll at Will"

Is there anyway to make it so that the screen will follow me all the time? At the moment, it wont move up unless I'm running and jumping. I'm pretty sure this is my last problem.

Thanks again
