Talking about bugs, eh? I got Mario stuck between Toad and the wall in the castle. I |

Yeah but clipping isn't a terrible problem. I'll take some clipping in a good game as opposed to game design flaws/bugs/lockups. |

With 3D, there will always be clipping. Always. |

Devolopers today are more lazy.
Nah, it seems that N64 games are more buggy than the Gamecube games for example. Something says me that the programmers wasn't used to 3D programming.
More advanced it is = harder to program = more bugs. |

And then there's IM2, which I'm assuming is beatable on any platform it was released on. (Likely several.)
Programming bugs seem to be more common with today's games, actually... |

Only the NTSC version. The PAL version can be beaten. |

In the last boss battle in SML2, I somehow got stuck in the roof until time ran out in one of the small corridors between rooms. Was I ever pissed.
Still, good game. |

the only hard part about sml2 was the last level/boss fight with no midway point.. its lucky you build up a lot of lives up to that point because you have to expend so many of them to learn how to get through the level consistently.. or at least i did. i only got killed by the last boss once, but that was enough after i spent hours just getting to him.. it was several days before i was willing to play again, and luckily when i reached the last boss again i beat him.. (i know, hes not that hard, but theres some pressure when you know you have to fight your way through that whole thing again if you fuck up)
anyway... i actually enjoyed mario is missing and mario`s time machine a lot when i was a kid. of course i more recently played mario is missing on an emulator and it wasnt very good, but it definitely wasnt bad. and i remember enjoying marios time machine more back in the day, because it was so strange... well whatever..
ive heard from many sources that e.t. is indeed the worst game ever, but i'm going to play all the games on this list before i cast my vote. |

Yeah but I played it when it came out. Still took a bit of time to find everything, and you also have to remember that the GB screen doesn't give you much to work with. |

SML2?!?
OK, now things are getting weird in this thread. Not an easy game by any means, but still quite good. *juggles original cartridge* |

I found Super mario land 2 very easy. I loaned that game once and I finished very quickly.
But I hadn't tried it again since I cleared it. |

I haven't played most of those, so I'm gonna say Super Mario Land 2. It was just hard enough, to the point where it was still somewhat fun, except that it wasn't hard in a fun way so much as an "AAAARRRRGGGHHH DIE DIE STAB KILL" way. Practically nothing but long jumps between moving platforms and badly-placed enemies. The bosses were way hard too. But the two things that really pissed me off were: If you lose all your lives, you have to beat all the bosses again (and the game autosaves), and once you get all 6 coins you have to finish the game right then and there! I dunno if it was intentional, but it happened on every copy I ever tried; if you get all 6 coins, then shut the game off, WHAM! All the save files get erased. ARGH! |

I somehow managed to completely skip Deadly Towers on the list.
ALSO: Why all the hate for ET? Yeah, it's terrible--certainly not nearly as good as my cousin thinks it is--but c'mon, I'm not sure it even rates in my list of top 10 worst games of all-time.
Oh yeah, and Hard Drivin' for the Genesis was another "WHY didn't I give it a 1 again?" game. |

What's Deadly Towers doing on here? I understand why people don't like it (it's quite difficult until you get better equipment and its dungeons are easy to get lost in, and dungeon crawling is pretty repetitive if you don't have maps), but I wouldn't put it on the Worst. Games. Ever. list. At the very least, I'd rate it mediocre. The graphics aren't bad, the play control is decent, it doesn't randomly lock up or stick you in walls or anything like that, and I've always liked the music. You can get different levels of weapons and armor, and the game evolves after a certain point (the shops change what they sell, and there may be other changes, too), which was pretty innovative for a game released in 1986.
And despite popular belief, it's not an impossible game. With enough perseverance, you can beat it cleanly *pokes Emptyeye*, and it has a handy password cheat that allows the impatient to get the best equipment right off the bat. All you need to do is die as soon as humanly possible and change the first two digits of your password to EF or FE. Getting lost in the dungeons is now much more fun because you're a total badass who can stomp anything you come across. |

Yeah, Ultima Warriors of Destiny on NES was pretty bad...pity, too, because the other NES ports were pretty good (Quest of the Avatar in particular).
Hmm...pretty much any Acclaim game is worthy of mention on this list. |

8.5 from IGN, 7.6 from Gamespot.
So I was right but that's a pretty big gap. Heck, most of the GameFAQs reviews are good. |

No, Jet Grind Radio on X-Box and DC got excellent review.

...I'm positive some places gave Jet Grind Radio good reviews. Certainly nothing of the 1/10 variety.
