Bit-Blade

Bit-Blade was moving like a marionette, wildly. His sword seemed to be having trouble keeping him on his feet. He himself was having trouble even thinking very straight. He noticed then, for the first time, that is enemy wasn't pursuing battle. He was running away. Suddenly Rillard was in front of him. He almost couldn't tell, almost cut his ally down without meaning to. He collapsed, panting heavily.

Feeling the blow of the fire had put Rillard down hard. While he was suffered from a few minor burns, it seems that things should have been a little worse... Peering at his newfound opponent, he ripped out a concealed short dagger-like blade, jolts to his feet and quickly dashes towards his opponent. Unexpectedly, he trips... Though he was still moving forward and that blade was still pointing towards its intented target. The knife landed right in the chest of the fire-wielder, and with the force it was driven was surely holding it in there for a while. The mage grabbed hold as he collapses towards the ground. After that was over, Rillard gets up with a crooked smile...

Rillard: Hehehe, that's what you get... you wizardy fool!

Rillard, in all his glory was about to laugh, but stopped. He realized that this means that other foes are about. Taking a good amount of seconds tugging out the blade buried in the chest of the mage, he starts to creep around some more. Hoping to see one of his new buddies or a new fight...

Ahzaz-Thraak looks around...as all is silent here and now. He quickly casts continual light on a nearby tree, foregoing the verbal component. The area is lit. Some ten meters off an archer ducks behind a tree, and a similar story a bit further at a different angle. Another arrow flies in from yet another angle, from behind Ace.

Ahzaz-Thraak goes after the slighty further archer...and quickly cuts him down. He mutters to himself: "Three down...four left...where did no. 7 run off to...?"

Bit-Blades sword, as a last act before its master could be slain, sent a spark into his mind. Forcefully, his eyes were opened, his body erected, sat up straight. The awakening of his mind was slower, however. Bit-Blade got his bearing back soon enough, and began attacking the creature before him. His eyes were glowing a fierce green as his sowrd attempted to keep his mind open until threat was gone. He felt like he was blind through the veil of green. But it was a thing he was used to.

Ace and Ahzaz-Thraak came on to the scene.

Off: sorry about m' friend...she's been out for awhile. She told me what to say in her stead.

Ace immediately turns and fires an arrow at the trajectory of the one that barely missed him. Not seeing anything, but hearing something very soft running into the woods, on the other side of the road, he jumps into the trees, looking for this archer.

Ahzaz-Thraak dashes into the woods to where Bit-Blade and Rillard are. He stops as a cloaked figure, a few inches shorter than him, steps out from behind a tree. The person looks fairly similar to him...and is female. She speaks.

"What's this? A Berserker, in this warm of a place?"

Ahzaz-Thraak does not look pleased.

"This is not your world to claim."

"We will do as we are instructed."

"Then I instruct you to leave this world."

The female chuckles.

"Since when, did a servant of the Ever-Reborn take orders...from a Tælon?"

Ahzaz-Thraak draws his katanna and decapitates the female in on smooth stroke.

Meanwhile, somebody taps Rillard on the shoulder. It's another cloaked figure of this kind. He interlocks his thumbs and spreads his fingers...and out comes a fan of fire onto Rillard (wouldn't be fatal...but doesn't mean it won't hurt).

The firelight from that burning hands spell exposed two archers, about 20 ft. off each, for a fraction of a second. Ahzaz-Thraak mutters to himself as he runs to intercept one of them.

"Two down...four left...that's six...six...damn...where's the seventh?"

Bit-Blade manages to keep a hold on his blade, despite the shock. He blocks another arching bolt of energy with his blade. The bolt turned bright blue and was sent back to the caster. More and more people were coming in on him. They must have sensed his own magic... and how it was different than there own in a strange way. Drawn by curiosity... He began to fight more earnestly. Before he knew it, he was struck in the temple by some kind of spell. His sword, sensing his fading conciousness, gave one final burst of energy and struck down and killed one of his foes. The rest became blackness as he fell.

Rillard scans a bit around the forest sight. Yet, he strangely notices some flash of light from one part of the forest.

Rillard: *Mumbling* Hmmm... I haven't notice that before, better see what is goin' on...

With that, Rillard slowly moves in closer, unknowningly to the battle that seems to have started...

Ahzaz-Thraak watches on...poised...seeing the figures...not a sound came from the area.

"Hell...area-effect silence...great...."

Suddenly an arrow whizzes right in front of Ace's face...just about hitting him. Ahzaz-Thraak turns suddenly at the whistling sound, and an arrow strikes him in the chest, with a loud clang of metal-on-metal. The arrow falls from his amour. The shots came from two different directions. Ahzaz-Thraak draws his katanna, and starts looking around.

Also rather sudden, Bit-Blade finds a bastard sword up against his blade, with a small figure in dark robes holding it. Not sure about gender...but the figure can't be any taller than 4' 3". The face isn't too far removed from that of Ahzaz-Thraak, except younger, and a bit more...saddistic. Eletricity arcs between the swords, zapping Bit-Blades hands. Just then, an arrow strikes him in the back.

Rillard doesn't have anybody on him or attacking him at this moment.

Bit-Blade withdraws from sight, waiting, watching. He silently unsheathed his sword from it's scabbard, it's blade a deep, deep blue.
The silence was only too soon broken as several figures seemed to materialize around them, figures dark and clouded... illusion? Bit-Blade avoided the sure and swift slice of a sword by bending unnaturally backwards. Blades shot through the tips of his boots and he counter attacked swiftly with two vicious kicks, which in turn brought him standing again. He felt magic around him, dogdged quickly to the left, and attacked with his sword quickly, far more quickly than his opponent may have realized. His blade swung fast... and hit dead air.

Doesn't look like much...an owl can be heard in the distance. Spring peepers tweet somewhere in the treetops. A bit of winds makes some rustling of the branches. All is still, then all falls silent...like the owl's hooting was cut off mid-hoot, and like every last spring peeper shut up. *Everything* is quiet.

Back at the three on the road...all noises are still quite audible. Stronger senses of magic detect something was cast just a second ago.

Rillard gets onto his feet and silently tip-toes about. He scans the shady regions of the forest, using his right eye. One of his hands, placed firmly on the hilt of his holstered sword, the other is tightly curled at his side. Suddenly he stops, as he has a feeling that something is nearby... He gets himself ready, just in case... He stares sharply at an old tree, looking for any movement.

Ace keeps his bow aimed in the sound's direction, but changes his aim slightly so he won't hit Rillard if he needs to shoot quickly. "Signal to us if its anything dangerous, and be careful."

Ahzaz-Thraak continues to stare intensely at something....

[whispering] "I heard something step on a stick. It looks like a scout. We...may have to fight. Rillard...try to find out what it is for sure, since if it is a scout, you won't be noticed, since you don't radiate power. Everybody else...wait 'till we know what it is first. Could just be a deer or something."

Ahzaz-Thraak reaches for his katanna.

When Ahzaz-Thraak turns, so does Ace, looking in the same direction. In a flash his bow is in his hands, loaded and aimed in the direction he and Ahzaz-Thraak are now looking.

From not far away a strong Baritone voice says "Well, that was quite informative. I think you're just the sort of people I need to join forces with. that is, of course, if you don't mind".

When everyone looks they see a white Kitsune step from behind a tree several yeards away. (Kitsune race: basically looks like a human but with fox-like ears and a long flowing tail. also long hair. all of which are white in this case. his skin is like a hunam's but is a bit paler) his clothing is a less bright white then his hair and seems to fit loosely with many folds. in the dark it is hard to see what else he carries but a quiver and bow on his back and the hilt of a sword at his side do stand out against his clothing enough to see. As he steps closer his eyes prove to be gold, and glow just slightly like a cat's eyes at night.

He walks silently. He was clearly masking his energy until now, but now that he is not, anyone with the ability to sense such things can sense a great deal of positive energy coming from him.

When he is within a few feet of Ahzaz-Thraak he bows and says "My name is Ace, Ace Nightrunner, and I offer to join you and your companions".

Rillard: Hmmm... sounds like you got a serious matta on your hands. I mean... since these Shcecko-Tor must have some kind of power strong enuff to do such. Well, it felt good when I did such a deed for a number of people before, and maybe... I'll do it again. You can count myself in! Ehhh... now where did I... drop my dagger? I mean, you guys were standing behind it, right?

Ahzaz-Thraak stands up straight.

"In case you didn't know, the city of Devonsbrook was sacked eleven days ago, leaving no one alive, including sailors, and animals. This was done by a race of people called the Sceck-Tor. They do not exist in this world. They come from a different plane of existence. They have come here to conquer the entire world, and erase any evidence of people other than them leaving here, except perhaps in the fossil record. It will not take them too long either, unless enough strong folks can come together and stop them. They do not simply wish to stop with this world; they want every world. They wish to conquer all that exists, destroying everyone and everything that is not Sceck-Tor.

"There are several different types of Sceck-Tor, one of which does not wish to conquer everything, but would rather co-exist, if not live peacefully. They are actively trying to end the world invasions and the cosmic conquest. They are the Tælon-Tor. I am one of those."

*Sweat starts to fall from the thief's forehead*

???: Oh boy, now you're creepin' me out with this magic stuff... Though, thanks for the word on such... Keeps me at ease a little, I guess. So, about this sub-race wanting some sort of causmic contest, what do you mean by all that? We just met... Speaking of such, people usually call me Rillard, the Lucky One!

Rillard was somewhat short, with was quite noticable in the dark. The hair of the thief was a dark color, but much else couldn't be known in this darkness.

Rillard: Now, about this part about quasic conmess?

Bit-Blade gives the theif a srartled stare. He shouldn't have been able to hear that in that state.

"The Gehrdia. These are guardian spirits. I have lent you the services of one, as you lack any magic whatsoever. It will guide you, when you need it. Also, because this Gehrdia is mine, I will be able to find yo no matter where you go."
