And I like to see when there are glitches that aren't in the real versions.

Darkslaya, yes that is fun. Heck sometimes I use the emulator just for testing out cheats and things. But always plays seriously on the real thing. (I play better to on the real thing. )

Mmmm, Id have to say either earthbound or KSS. Both of those games are fun, though there are a bunch of things you can do with cheats in earthbound

Secret Of Mana, mainly because I can't find the real cart anywhere

The best games i've emulated are the Super Mario games. It's fun to be able to play the hacks. I don't really have a favorite of the games I have, though.

LOZ: Ocarina of Time.

I like to use to cheat to be able to fly. I go far in the the air (vs. Ganon) and then I takes 5 min until I come back to the ground. Our I like to escape from the battle against Ganon (I get killed when I'm in the air, then I get out of there.)

when i played until the level C3, in LL, i dunno what hapened, i guess i pulled my joystik coz the game freezed and when i restarted it, all the other mario games from smas were totally erased and i had to restart everything again.

now i completed all of them at the emulators and have a savestate that makes me sure i wont lose my progress in those games

Earthbound, no honestly. I never regret that I downloaded that game.

Sure I like SMW2 better, but I have the real one and all...

And sometimes I even think on importing Earthbound.

The thing with Wanderers of Ys is that it was made by Sammy. The game is fun, with great music, but needless to say that it is the bastard child of the series. If you want a good Ys game, then play the first 2.

Also I forgot to mention what the best game I emulated was. Personally, I'm going to say Castlevania Symphony of the Night (either that or Seiken Densetsu 3).

If we do get Ys I and II for PS2, then I will be REALLY happy. I really love those games. (I'm working on beating Nightmare mode in Ys I)

I've heard that Konami is supposed to eventually port it to the US, but we'll see what happens. Last I knew, GameFAQs had a 10/01/04 release date, while Gamespot just said TBA.

Wanderers of Ys really has little to do with he rest of the series, particularly in gameplay terms. You can easily compare it to, say, Castlevania II in relation to the rest of the CV series in that regard.

You know...this is a hard question if not impossible... I can tell what games I thought were GREAT but not best...

I like the Megaman X series for SNES and the DBZ fightibng games like Super Butoden 1, 2, 3 and Hyper Dimension. I

Colin, I have a better solution

The best version of Ys I and II is the newest release, Ys Eternal Complete. It is freaking amazing. Only the first one has a COMPLETE translation, but Ys 2 is being worked on now.

http://rigg.servegame.com/translations/yseternal/index.html#3

Look at the screenshots here.

It is far more detailed and amazing as the older versions. This was the version that was to be ported to the PS2. Unfortunately the US won't see it. So we have to just use this.

Just find Ys Eternal on Kazaa or Overnet and get it.

If you want a taste of the game then I believe this page will get you a demo of it.

It is in Japanese though, so you only get to feel the gameplay, not the story.

Good luck.

I'd rather seek out the ISO and just play it the Turbo way.

I remember playing Wanderers of Ys (SNES)... Yeah. Need to try that one again, it threw me for a loop when I played it briefly many moons ago.

Mario Kart. For me, it was a revival of interest.

Gundam Wing: Endless Duel is a great fighting game indeed.. but I think Bahamut Lagoon is one of the best SNES games. Strategy RPGs are cool.

Well, you can get Ys I on both NES and the Master System, and Ys II on NES, (Fan translations) which will give you a basic idea of the gameplay...you should really find the Turbo CD version to get the full effect, though. Not that they're not fun games without all the enhancements the T-CD provides, but honestly, it's a cosmetics (And I include sound in this) that elevates them from "Good-to-great game" to masterpieces.

ALSO: Nightshade on NES is another great game that no one has heard of.

*drools* Must... download... Ys... (I always had an interest in that game ever since I saw it in old magazines. And of course the reviewers loved it back then.)

Hm... Hard for me to say. Basically every game I never got a chance to play. So way too many for me to count. The important thing, of course, is that I've had many hours of fun.

Mario Kart 64. I was tired of this on N64 but being able to use it on a computer with my PS2 controller hooked up to it brought new life to it. Especially 4 players.

Ys Book I & II on the Turbo, far and away.

A game ridiculously far ahead of its time..they went out and got professional voice actors in 1989, before most of the gaming world knew what voice-acting WAS, let alone took it as seriously as the other aspects of games.
