ZSNES 1.40 should catch up to SNES9X with the SFA2 support and all that. Can't wait for it. (Haven't really tried any of the beta builds - remember when MAME was known for that? )

SFA2 actually wasn't too bad back in the day, although it was hard as hell to find in stores and it was Capcom's last SNES game (I think). Released when the Saturn/PSX ports were... so yeah.

Ah, okay. Yea, I'd do that too for SNES9x it's just I've found a way to work around it.

Now for running certain games IN GENERAL, Like Ranma

For the record, I prefer ZSNES. SNES9x runs weirdly on my machine (it runs too fast whatever frameskip settings I use, and I can't find any decent resolutions to play the games at), so I use ZSNES. I was just pointing out the simplest solution for the guy to play the game. It sure beats any currently existing solution.

You already said that, and yea I know, but it's no big thing for me.

And like I said, ZSNES 1.40 is going to have support for SDD1 coming June 20...so then where's your SNES9x gonna be then eh?

Ah yes...SFA2 and it's lil well known problem to running in ZSNES 1.36 (which won't be a problem in 1.40 btw). It requires that you get an SDD1 external graphics pack and put it in a specific directory in your ZSNES directory (usually something around the name of SFA2SDD1 or something).

As for where you can find them, google for something like 'Street Fighter Alpha 2 Graphics Pack' and see if that doesn't come up with what you're looking for, then DL the pack and there should be a readme in there that will show you how to do everything.

Personally, I liked playing it on MAME32 a lot better than ZSNES...just because of the overall quality difference...but if you're wanting to go up against someone in say zbattle.net...then yea...you'll want to do this.

The latest version of SNES9x (v1.42, I believe) can run it fine.

You need to install a graphical patch for it; IIRC, it's heavily compressed and no current emulators, to my knowledge, can display it properly. Most places that carry the ROM also carry the patch.
