And yet you think like 4000 or 2000 gil is anything? It has costed me over 1,000,000 for everything I have. (Of course I have done almost every job.) Including question Utsusemi instead of buying it.

I think I'm truly starting to get into this game... the linkshell I'd been for a few weeks prior suddenly up and died because their leader quit and no one could be promoted. Everyone hurried to Bastok as fast as they could to start a new one, and after my chipping in of half the new shell price, and all the names they suggested were taken, they had to go with mine - Oathkeepers are we.

It's unbelievable how much more fun any online game is when you have a massive group of friendlies to share it with - certainly with something as dynamic as a linkshell.

Blitzen, taru, currently 40PLD/20WAR on Seraph.

I haven't played in a while, but I am considering starting up again soon.

Not sure if I'm gonna stick with my thief, though...

I play it almost every day. Believe me I am good. Dragoon level 14 as of today, but I am supposed to be working on Summoner (20)

I haven't played in a while, but I still play it once in a while. I got the Chains of Promathia expansion pack a few days ago, so I'll probably start playing again over weekends.

I just bought this.

Does anyone from here still play it?

Yeah it does, except certain places and dungeons, but otherwise you can go where ever you want when ever you want. Be careful of monsters that aggroe though because they will kill you. I had to fight 4 Yagudo at one time and I had to use my 2 hour ability. Oh you will love the chocobo.

I hoped I confused someone.

God! I need an internet cable for my PS2!
Also wanna get FFXI... looks so freaking cool!
With gameplay and storyboard like that, you could play forever!
Build your ego between your friends (I AM THE CHAMPION!!!) and play online every now and then.

I used to do the same with Everquest.
I wonder if this game will let you roam around and do whatever you please?

The problem with multiplayer games is that you need to play them with others

I will say that the most boring part of this game is leveling up until you get your subjob and chocobo license.

The story is good though. Something that MMORPGs lack.

As for dial up play, it works really well. The game was well programed and doesn't lag much on a dial up, if it does lag, it is usually in town near auction houses. Most notibly in the town of Jeuno.

Getting a world pass is easy, considering that getting gil is rather simple if you are experienced. I just auction off all the dropped junk that I don't need (mostly crystals)

I made and trashed characters for two hours trying to get with my friend, by then he bought me a world pass.

I still say the only reason most people buy this game is because its square.

Yeah, but someone who knows what they're doing can usually scrape up the funds needed in an hour or two of game time, starting from scratch.

Or you could just keep making and trashing characters and hope to get dropped on the right world

I have a question for all you current players of this game. Do they still have the retarded world pass buisness going on?

Okay... it's the end of the term here, and the guy who owns the computer I was playing this on notified me the other day that he's moving out and he trashed my char. Inevitable I guess.

So this'll probably be the first game I pick up after I get some small upgrades for my computer. What I'm getting at is... I'm going home, and I'm just curious how this game performs on dialup (I'll probably hijack one of my friends' DSL connections to grab the updates). Anyone?

I am going with the sam strategy you are jarukoth. I heard it's the best for dealing a lot of damage. I am going this route as well.

My life is getting shorter cause of this game but I love it.
