Damn, you're right about License to Kill...View to a Kill's title is based on "From a View to a Kill", part of "For Your Eyes Only"

Wrong.

Fleming never wrote any books called "License to Kill" or "A View to a Kill"

Time to talk some sense into this thread

1) Quit complaining about "ONOZ ITS NOT BOND! BOND IS NOT IN IT! WTF!" This is very much to be considered a Bond game because it is set in the Bond Movie universe. And Bond IS in it, though briefly. The game opens with a mission inspired by the famous Fort Knox showdown from Goldfinger, wherein your character, an aspiring Double 0 agent, is supposed to be teamed up with Bond. You push him off a ledge or something. Then you "take things into his own hands, exhibiting a wanton disregard for Her Majesty's protocols." Thus, you get kicked out of MI6, and become a "rogue agent"

2) You know EXACTLY why they're calling it Goldeneye. Don't fool yourself. They're doing it for the money. Everyone liked the original Goldeneye, and they're going for the name-recognition thing here. Companies do it all the time. I'd say it's more fitting here then it was with, oh... Tetris Attack

Also, the whole idea they're going for with this game is to bring in the fun, action-based, "all about poppin' a cap in some foo's", first person shooterage of the original Goldeneye instead of the stealth and gadgets and stuff of their own Bond games.

I also might point out that Goldeneye, as a title for a Bond movie, was a diversion from the typical Bond movie titles. The Bond movies before Goldeneye were named after (not always based on) the Bond Novels/Stories by Ian Fleming. Goldeneye was named after Fleming's house in Jamaica (which he designed himself). And the Bond movies since then haven't really been named after anything.

They really shouldn't be using Goldeneye in the title, it isn't any kind of follow up on Goldeneye. Who knows what the hell they're thinking (or should I say they're Not Thinking) They shouldn't even relate it to a Bond-like-game since He's not even in it.

The graphics in their games don't actually seem as impressive as other people seem to think. Yeah, they're fine, they're quite 'nice', but they're nothing to write home about these days. The movement of characters seems a bit odd and not very fluid, explosions really aren't that impressive, blah blah...

And yes, shame on those people who expected a remake of GoldenEye. This isn't Rare. Rare barely even exists these days. Most of the people who made GoldenEye have moved onto different groups like the makers of Timesplitters, etc.

Rare has gone downhiiiill... In EA's favour, at least they're *consistently* average.

You all seem to be forgetting that this isn't RAREWARE making 007 games anymore (in fact they only made one, Goldeneye).

And this game is being produced by EA, the current owner of the 007 game shit thing license blah blah. And they haven't done too well.. lets see they've done The World Is Not Enough, Agent Under Fire, Nightfire (which I hear is actually quite great, I've only tried the GBA version XD), Everything or Nothing, and now Goldeneye 2.

From what I hear you aren't James Bond, you're a villian. I first thought WTF? So the objectives are gonna be like... A. Jump off the cradle.. yeah. right.

I really don't know where this is leading, but I've never really been happy with EA and their 007 games. I still have yet to try Nightfire.

[edit] I'll add also that, although EA may do excellent graphics for the games, it's the gameplay that counts for me, and from what I heard and seen, Agent Under Fire was shit. Don't know much about Everything Or Nothing. The World is Not Enough was okay (N64 version I own) but I found it got boring especially multiplayer, nice to have AI for once though... think I'd rather play Perfect Dark though.

I think the smarter thing for them to do was just remake the original Golden Eye and put it online. I mean I'd play Golden Eye Multiplayer ALL DAY LONG! It is so addictive and fun. With the technology now and being able to get online they good bring Golden EYE back with a bang. Instead they make a gay sequel that I won't buy

Meh, when it comes out we can say for certain.

Until then, all we can do is speculate about it, although, ismannen that stuff can be tweaked for the release. There's still hope.

Hmmm, the only Bond game I liked playing over and over was Goldeneye... and I guess Nightfire or whatever was ok...

This better be damned close to being as good as Goldeneye if it's going to have that in the name!

She's actually Polish, I think.

I was expecting a remade GoldenEye for a while, as it was being called Goldeneye 2, and then I read the plot.

THIS ONE IS A THUMBS DOWN FROM ED!

Jesus, if you read the 'plot' on the website, you'll find it's actually *nothing* to do with GoldenEye in the least. No GoldenEye satellite, no Natalya (noooo... ;-; ) no 006, no russian military trains and tanks, no nothing. Just a bloke with a golden eye. False advertising or what?

But why callling it Goldeneye? I suppose that this game will have some relation to the goldeneye satellite.

Now I wonder if it can compete with other FPS... but I somewhat doubt that.

Just read a little preview of it on a Swedish site. Too bad, but they say it sucks. Crappy controls, strange leveldesign and so on. But we'll have to wait and see for the final version, but I do admit it's beautiful ;P

WOW...

I hadn't seen much of this since I had first head of it. If it all comes together like it should...I'll be veeery happy.

Rogue Agent.

This is looking pretty sweet graphics wise, and if they keep up with James Bond tradition, and have a good plot....this could be awesome.
