I'm 24 and Chris is 27 and we both like anime, and InuYasha for that matter.
Age has nothing to do with it, really. Well, for some it is, I guess, but at any rate, I am me and I don't give a shit. Like what Hiryuu said, let them keep their "real" TV and garbage like that.

I'm 16 and, yes, I do get a lot of gruff from my family about anime (even from my younger siblings (sister 1 year younger, brother 5 years)). I still try my feeble attempts to get them to understand, but that's why they're feeble attempts. I've just learned to ignore it. |

So I was in a bar the other day, waiting to get a drink when some thirty something dude says to me, "No wonder you kids are so fucked up." I looked up and there was Inuyasha on the TV screen, the sound all the way down. Personally I don't like Inuyasha but I did get into some mainstream anime when I was younger. Then the guy said "but I'd fuck her", which I had a laugh at as I rolled my eyes uncomfortably.
Does anyone else get this kind of grief from older types? (I'm 21) And mind you, I'm not a huge anime fan, and I'll admit there is lots of crappy anime, but there's also a lot of good ones. |
