mrmenz: Those aren't any better deals than what he got. If the auction has less than 10 minutes left on it, you can NEVER call it a good deal. ONLY after it's sold can you be the judge of it.

Erk: Um, $900 is 3x more than $300. For $300 he got something a lot better than this. with a larger screen as well.

Ok I looked and they do have good deals but none of them are selling for 305 and have the stuff I have. I looked at one that sold for 350 that was like mine but with 10 GB on the HD. The deals aren't really any better, I wouldn't be able to afford the more expensive ones (Over 340) because I don't got enough money. I also looked and alot didn't have a DVD drive. But I see what your talking about and Im sure if I looked there I would have found a good deal just like the one I did. Anyway thanks for your help.

Pentium 3 1200 mhz
512 MB of RAM
30 gig HD
DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo

Its a used dell returned by the original owner theres a whole section of them, and you buy directly from Dell so they amke sure that the machine at least powers up and will install an OS. It really is awesome how cheap some of the C600 Dells are.

For $300? I'd take it. Almost as good as what I have now, but in portable form.
$350 for a laptop with DVD... DVD alone's gonna be most of that, and it won't be a real good one.

one more thing...hopefully the thing has enough video ram...my $200 "rented" laptop had only 2.5MB of video RAM...it couldn't play VisualBoy Advance in Gameboy mode

Thanks Tomguy , I plan on updating it next Christmas but its only gonna be used for a portable DVD player, Portable gaming device, and so I can surf the web when I go on vacation ect. I think that this is GREAT for not being my primary comp. IM SO HAPPY!

Erk: If you look at how much used laptops actually cost, it's about the average going rate for one of that speed/size/generation etc. It'll play DVDs and any game like Diablo2 or older (which is what half the people here limit themselves to anyway).

I see it having no problem running XP, my P3 500 laptop w/160MB RAM runs it fine.

okay, it's not a good deal

and it's really not

I mean if you want a cheap crap laptop then I guess it is

but I wouldn't give that PC to someone I didn't like

6 gig harddrive ???

600 Mhz processor ????

192 Megs of ram ???

it probably barely runs Windows 2000

and it's so old, the battery probably doesn't even work any more

not to mention I would NEVER buy a computer from someone that can't spell

Norton / Office / or Windows

or that makes up bullshit they expect me to believe about a computer being "HIGH PERFORMANCE" yeah.... 2 years ago.....

Just some tips, if you want to watch DVDs on it and have them NOT look like ass:

1) MUST be 500MHz or faster. If it's a Celeron, MUST be at least 800MHz. See #4.
2) MUST have at LEAST a TFT screen (XGA, SXGA, etc are good), NOT dual-scan or active matrix.
3) MUST have at least 128MB of RAM
4) MUST be an Intel P3 or AMD Athlon or Duron, or better. If Celeron, do NOT settle for less than 800MHz, and I HIGHLY suggest avoiding any Celeron system.
5) MUST have good batteries, if used, otherwise your DVD will cut out after a few dismal minutes because the DVD drive drains the battery rather quickly, and if its capacity is low, it won't last.
6) MUST have at least Li batteries, NOT Ni-Cd or another Ni or Cd alloy.

Note #'s 5 and 6 only matter if you want to use it as a laptop. Of course, if you WANT a laptop, these SHOULD matter. Otherwise, buy a god damn tower, trendy bitches

I'd suggest ya to pay a little more so:

A. You could get a laptop with DVD,
B. It could run those DVD without any chances of lag.
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
