oh, and all you people saying you need ASM to hack the music...meh, couldn't be more wrong I'm afraid and for those of you who just ask for new music like YI as if its that simple...again, couldn't be more wrong you'd have to copy over new samples, and the lot...other smas music would jnust be easier...tohugh that dosnt mean YI can't be done...hmm...idea...idea...idea...I'll get back to you all in a day or so

Ok, I saw the blocks and I already hit my self with a bat it the head over it.

Here's a better one, create mushroom blocks off of SMB2.
(You could make some nasty puzzles with them.)
If this has already been done, then I'll insult my self in advance.

In Demo World 3, the SMW star music is replaced with the Star Baby Mario (or whatever he's called)... It does go well with the game sometimes, too, especially when you insert YI GFX.

I whan to include in my hack 2-3 extra music tracks ex: "Hammer Bros." from SMB3, "The Underground" from SMB1 and someting from SMB2 to.
I tryed to insert manualy an track for one level but when I played that level the game has stopt.
Has (or will) LM an hidden "insert joypad recorded music" previously recorded in an Zsnes *.spc file?

If someone can helpme:
- whit documentation about insering custom music in SMW (I undesten ASM subrutines and can make small demos)

- and whit other good metodes to lock the rom extra gfx from editors ...

Yoshi's Story? No problem, just put some swaying animations or sprites, really unpredictable water, and patches everywhere.

In fact, I can take some YS style requests.

Id like to see other monsters from other mario games. Like rocky wrench and that beetle that picks up blocks and throws em. Stuff like that would be cool. And also i have an idea for a tool simular to block tool only for music it would be called the M tool and you could use it to rip music from other roms and put them in mario world.
Other bosses would be cool too like birdo from super mario 2 or boom boom from mario 3 and the boomerang brothers would be cool to.

Bah. Yoshi's Island was a great game, yeah, but... Everything about Yoshi's Story just screamed creativity. Sure, Yoshi's Island had some nice stuff, but Yoshi's Story... Is just better... In my opinion, of course.

For my new hack, I'm gonna rip graphics from Yoshi's Story (from N64) - it actually has some pretty neat stuff among the textures, which are perfectly the same as the SNES tiles...
Hard piece of work, though. And very... colour-hungry.

Like FPI"s hack, I really liked the idea of ripping graphics from multiple games, being SMB3 and even Sonic the Hedgehog. (For a SMW hack)

All sorts of hacks have ripped GFX. Nintendo obviously doesn't care, or they'd have cracked down already. We don't sell them, we give credit, and they're outdated anyway, so who gives a damn?

Another idea I was contemplating, but don't think I'll use (doesn't fit my hack's theme at all, maybe in a later one) was to remove the L/R scrolling, remap item drop to one of the L/R buttons (leaving the other one free to use), and have the select button switch characters (I was thinking between Inuyasha and Kagome but given that my hack's based in a modern to futuristic time, that wouldn't work (expect a cameo tho)). With some simple ASM hacking each character could have separate graphics, abilities, physics (one jumps faster, the other runs higher, or some such thing) etc. In 2-player mode, the second character'd be controlled by player 2, and in one-player, you'd control both (not a problem, the game's already programmed this way and will do it even if you switch characters mid-game). Maybe even do it DKC style (when one dies you take over the other one, and can find the other again later, and when both die, you lose).

If I wasn't so lazy, I'd make a hack featuring Homestar Runner (www.homestarrunner.com) and the other characters, however, the levels would be too few and far too short! (Strongbadia, Bubs's, The Stick) Use this idea if you'd like to...
