Sienfeld is a great show, your crazy Anya.
If you like standup then you should like this show, its pretty much the same thing only with cartoons which makes it even better. |

The hell it won't. And I've tried to watch it..but I can't even last three minutes. I can't even stand his stand-up act. |

Originally posted by Sion I must be wierd then because I also love Sienfeld (i could literally watch the same episode like 20 times and still enjoy it) but I also love Chappelle show and I think Shorties Watchin Shorties is pretty good.
Sitcoms are diffrent than the said show here and Chappelle, at least that's what I think. I mean, I hate sitcoms and I loath, I mean I cannot stand Seinfeld...I would rather stab myself...well, you get my point.
I don't think Shorties is one of the "greats", but I enjoy it.
Funny...its on right now. |

Hmmm, maybe I'm just weird for liking situational comedy (aka sitcomes). And some slapstick (Blazing Saddles and Airplane! come to mind)... and Python, which is a mix.
But this show... I saw it... I didn't laugh... wait, no, I chuckled twice. This is down there with the Chapelle show on my list of "comical" shows to avoid. Now, about being "one of the greats" maybe I just don't have a taste for this kind of comedy... so I'd disagree. But maybe it's one of the greats in its own category, I dunno. But I thought Science Theater 2000 (or was it 3000) was much better in the genre of watching things and mocking them.
And about being one of the greats.... SEINFELD wins my vote there! 180 episodes or so, and it never failed to make me laugh continuously.
EDIT: and Seinfeld's new gig with Superman is pretty funny, too. |

I disagree I find this show to be one of the great ones. Im a big fan of stnd up comedy and cartoons and when they are both combined a great show is born! |

Eh, I liked it better when the guy that did those cartoons did really short cartoons and they played before commercials sometimes. Not something I want to watch as a series. |

Its down right a good show. Ive watched every episode so far and I really like it. Ive noticed that they have been reusing characters which is cool because viewers will be able to become familiar with them. |

I like the show. Seen about four or so eps thus far. I'm not sure what time it comes on, but since I leave the TV on Comedy Central when I leave the apartment, usually it's on when I get home. I mean, it's not the best out there, but I think it's watchable. |

I used to watch that all the time....but basically those guys were doing what me and my friends do when we're watchin movies.
That guy lickin the casket cracked me up.... "SHE LIKES E!!!!!"
The buffet one was really funny too, Chinese people crack me up! "eat vegtabol....eat brokari!" |

I liked the short with the guy that was banned from the buffet at the Chinese restaurants, especially the stuff the restaurant owner says. Mike Birbiglia's was funny when the guy was licking the girl's casket.
Kefka, the show is called Mystery Science Theatre 3000. That's a pretty funny show even though it has no sexual connotations in it (at least not that I saw/heard). |

Its not that bad. Todays episode should be relly funny. They animated some Wanda Sikes stand up. I saw the commercial and it looked hilarious. |

Hmmm, this sounds similar to Science Mystery Theater 2000 or whatever it's called (3 guys, 2 of them robots, watch really shitty movies and make fun of them). I'm sure that show had some influence on this. And then, on ESPN Classic, there's a show where 2 guys watch classic sports moments or downright weird sports moments and mock them. This seems to be the new type of comedy on today's TV. |

I've never seen it, but I can tell it'd be funnier if it moved along real fast, throwing funny stuff at you and you keep laughing and laughing and you can't digest everything.

Ive seen it a couple of times and I thought it was pretty funny.
They need to animate this one stand uo about some guy getting hit by a car and trying to play it off cool. I dont remember the comedians name but it would be crazy funny if it was animated. |

If you don't know what this show is, it's some new cartoon crap on Comedy Central where they put standup bits into mini cartoons (shorties), and then cartoon babies comment on them (shorties). It was on this morning so I watched it.
I don't know. I mean, it's a good idea, but the comedy bits that I recognized seemed funnier when I saw them performed by the comic him/herself. They gotta know the right timing, how to convey it to the audience, etc.. we don't need a cartoon to show that to us. They should just continue Comic Remix if they're going to do this..
What do you think? |
