File: Identities: Manage Identities
Main identity properties
Click "Require a password"
See, although this comes as common sense/intuition to me, I'm willing to bet money that if you went to file: Help and searched for it, you'd find out quicker w/o having to ask  |

actually tomguy that just stops it from actually checking the e-mail
it still shows up
you have to do something with the multiple user accounts
better yet, don't use Outlook express
just go to www.hotmail.com and check it

When you added the damn account, there was a checkbox that says "Remember password." If you uncheck that box, BOOM! Problem solved. |

Check around the settings to see a check box that says something to the lines of requiring a password every time. Also, make sure that the email account itself is protected by a password. This usually takes a quick call to your ISP.
As for the junk mail you've been getting, OE won't cut it down by itself. I'd recommend MailWasher. It goes out to the server itself to check for spam and junk mail and inform you of them, before they get passed on to your client (in your case, Outlook Express). |

For my email account I am using Outlook Express as I am getting sick of searching through thousands of JunkMail just to see if I have gotten any important emails ( this is with hotmail ). So anyway yes I am new to Outlook Express and I need some help into how you can password protect it.
I am using Windows XP and everytime I click into my own desktop and go to Express it will show all my mail straight away without putting a password or anything in. I don't want this as my mail is personal and if you have anoying siblings like mine they will go through my mail. I hope I have made some sence and I hope someone can help me with this problem.
EDIT: I wasn't sure weather to put this in my other thread i created in Hardware/Software as it is sort of unrelated to what i am talking about here. But if i should have put it their, sorry but i needed help with both issues at different times i encounted them |
