If Sega with al the doubt would create a Dreamcast 2 I wouldn't hesitate on second to buy one. But since it probably wont become a reality, I can always hope.

Otherwise I'll definately buy the PS3. Simply because playstation has all the rpgs and horrorgames.

Probably the Nintendo one, but I've been losing interest in all console games slowly over time.

I only play multiplayer now...so whatever has the best multiplayer and such

I voted for them all, and I am going to own them all eventually, but the ones I want the most is the PSP and the N5 and if it is true, the dreamcast 2....

here's what I seen about the DC2

"RUMOR #1: At E3, Sega will announce it is getting back into the console business.

Source: An e-mail blast inviting press to Sega's "mystery event" at E3.

The official story: "SEGA cannot comment on rumors relating to its exclusive press event on day one of E3. SEGA remains excited about its powerful lineup of yet-to-be announced titles."--Sega spokesman.

What we heard: Ever since Dreamcast production ceased in 2001, the console's diehard fans have held out hope that it would rise from the ashes. This week, hope came in the form of a one-paragraph press invitation to Sega's E3 presentation. "Learn about SEGA's 2004 line-up and hear BIG news you'd NEVER guess," read the invite, which promised "explosive news--something even YOU won't be able to guess!" (Emphasis in the original). Within minutes, Sega loyalists were churning out messianic predictions of a new and improved Dreamcast. "Financially revitalized, finally debt-free, Sega now firmly believes it has what it takes to rule the roost," read one. But before you break out the straightjackets, consider this: Amusement-machine giant Sammy is Sega's majority stockholder, and its president Hajime Satomi is Sega's chairman. This year, Sammy's new Atomiswave arcade platform will replace the veteran NeoGeo format. The NeoGeo also came in a home console version which had a customer base fanatical enough to shell out hundreds of dollars per game--in other words, a proven (if small) market. The Atomiswave's hardware is even more compact than the NeoGeo's. Sammy has announced Sega will focus on developing games for the Atomiswave. Could Sega's big announcement be a new, Sega-branded home console based on the Atomiswave? Or is all this much ado about nothing?

Bogus or not bogus?: Although it's an intriguing theory, it's probably bogus. Note to Sega: kudos for making one publicity e-mail go a long way."

N5 and the new GB, but mainly the N5.
There's no reason I would switch to any other company right now...

The next Sony and Microsoft consoles, most likely. There are surprisingly few good games for the Gamecube. If the next Nintendo handheld is backwards compatible with original GB and GBA games, I'll probably pass up an NES GBA SP for that... Unless it ends up costing more than 100 smackers.

Just pass it up anyway. The only difference will be the lack of an L+R button

It's called PocketNES. Use it on your normal GBASP and you can play all the NES games you want.

I barely know anything about the next consoles because I think it's crazy that they're already making new consoles. They cost far too much to be pumping them out every three or four years.

Honestly, the Xbox is a great gaming console. Little babies like RapTop are little mini advertisers of Nintendo. Grow up and at least try it.

I've tried all 3 major consoles. I like different games on different consoles. You can't discount the fact that there a few good games on the GCN... granted, not as many as the Xbox, but still a few good games.

If anything, PS3. D2 would be my first choice, but I don't really see Sega going back to making games. Interesting rumors though. Nintendo? My interest has pretty much died out on them, though their handhelds will always rule.

I can't promise I'll buy any next-gen consoles though. I really don't feel like dishing out $300 on a console once every 5 years. Although if the PS3 is going to be backwards compatible with the PS2 and has an additional port to hook up the Network Adapter to somewhere, I might sell my PS2 and it.

Ill probably wind up buying the next Nintendo console while I get the portable later, then save up for the DS. My friend will buy PS3... and/or my brother.

Other than that, nothing else catches my eye.

Since I'd been with the PS since it came out and I own PS2. I'll go with the PS3. Hopefully It'll last longer than my PS2..well it's getting old, so I should expect it to..be a mess up.

I'd get a PS3 if it supports backwards capability (can play PS1 and PS2 games) because I don't own a PS now. And who can turn up a system that has new mario and zelda games available on it?

I really have no idea yet...

The N5 (watch it be called the GameCube 2 or something) would probably be my first choice but I need to see all the final specs, demos, etc. So talk to me in a year.

I'll get whatever system has the best online capabilities, thats what.

Since I think Sony has taken notice, I'll probably go with that.

Buying a console is simple. You just look at the killer apps that are being made for it, both at release date, and later on the in the year.
Hopefully the companies have sorted out the jump from one platform to another, and we can expect multiple killer apps from launch.

Same goes for PSP and the next Gameboy. If I can expect another (realistically rendered) Zelda game, then I'll definately buy the next gameboy.

If we can expect a port of FFVII on the PSP, then I'll buy one. Simple as pie

I'm certainly not expecting another Sega machine, the rumors must be fake so far if there hasn't been anything said on reputable news sites or in the press. Don't believe that one.

Probably the N5 and the next GB. Latest two I've had are PS and PS2, but I've been very dissapointed with many good games for the PS2 not getting released here in Europe, so I think I'll go Nintendo this time...
