I wasn't allowed to watch Rated R movies, and I'm kinda glad x_o

I did my project on media recently and watching things like that at a young age can cause desensitization (watching it won't affect you really.) and callousness (no pity for those who have been victims of violence)

My mother was but dad, well, he knew I knew better and knew what I was seeing. I mean, I don't see the big deal, as long as you know that it's just a movie and you don't run off doing some of that crap, then its okay. Maybe, 14 and up is alright. I mean, as long as you're taught before hand.

But when you bring babies into an R movie at a midnight showing, that's just wrong.

actually, i think that the ratings do help people avoid certain movies,
mainly because if theyre pg, they will probably be getting a movie for little kids that think fart jokes and vomiting onscreen is funny.
when you get pg-13, its aiming for an audience of children who like lots of fart jokes and violence
when you get r- your aiming for an audience of grown ups who act like children

There is one thing that I am annoyed with.

People that just want to see a certain movie becuse it has X or R rating. And then evades the other lower ratings.

Honestly I have seen that happen severeal times. That movies are for everyone isn't the same thing as them being crap.

I can't even remember the first one I saw.

It was probably at my friend's house, and I was giddy with laughter when they dropped the "f" bomb.

Me and my father sat down and watched ShowGirls together when I was 9 years old so that should answer your question

Anyways I watched my first R rated movie at the age of 6 and the movie was Friday The 13th.

When I watched MY first "R"Rated movie, I think I was 8 or 9. It was The Terminator.

Then after that, it was Friday the 13th...the first one...

the first R rated movie i saw was BASEketball when i was 11
my parents kind of cared when i was little, but now they dont give flying fuck about what i watch.

the reason for that is because i dont watch all the shit that all the morons at my school watched, and liked(texas chainsaw massacare).

Rated R is a dumb move. They should've kept the proper X rating to connotate that the film is a serious film. But that god damned piece of Hollywood shit, Deepthroat, decided to ruin film for the intelligencia.

wtd. Still none for me, and I'm 15.

The only ones I see are either away from the house, or when my mom's out of the house, as my dad doesn't care.

Heh, when I was younger whenever there was a part they didn't want me to see they'd fast forward it . Now they just expect me to fast forward it.

I personally think the rating system is crap...i went to go see The Whole Ten Yards last night (surprisingly funny) and it had more cussing and violence and sexual inuendo in it than most R rated movies...and they dont want me to go see The Matrix Revolutions.

Z- You should see both of those, they're good. When you sober up, of course.

My parents didn't care much. But then I wasn't intrested in thoose movies until I was 13-14 year old. My parents hadn't cared about age restrictions or anything.

They don't even react if the movie contains "risky" content. Such as boobies.

I don't go out to the movies much...so I can't really answer this question. But chances are, even if i did, they wouldn't want me watching them...I know they do not want my brother watching them based on certain events that has happened. But in short, my parent's wouldn't let me.

Anyways, the first R movie I saw...I don't remember
