They don't credit you with the win for an intentional disconnect? Some PC games do, so if XBox Live doesn't have protection for that then I'd be surprised.

I'd only be pissed because I'd want to continue the slaughter.

Seph:

Mechassault and Halo in particular.

Me: "Yes, I'm about to beat you!"
Them: "haha, I disconnected, now you'll never win!"
Me: "I hate you dead!"

I never drop games, I remember when I was playing NHL 2k4, I think over at my cousin's house. Some guy was losing to me 12-4...So, he dropped. What a pussy.

In what games?

The only real "game" I've played on 'Live is Rainbow Six 3, and I've definately experienced "nerdy brats" (as I have SOCOM/SOCOM II), but never sore losers of brats who can't stomache losing (which is how some cheaters originated, sadly enough). Never be friends with them! EVER!

Xbox Live arguably has THE best online of ANY of the 3 consoles. So you have to pay to use it. So what? Like $5-6/month was EVER considered a lot to pay for! Just buy it and be happy with it. You'll thank me later.

And the games are awesome, too. Project Gotham Racing 2, Rainboy Six 3, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, etc are enough to keep me busy long enough. So many good games, so little time.

XBOX CONNECT 4.0

I don't want to say it again, but I will if I have to. It's free and quick. Very good use of tunneling.

I really enjoy Live, but it all depends on what games you like that are Live enabled.

My favorites are PGR2, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. And keep in mind that alot of the big-name titles coming out will be Live. (Halo 2 will be Live).

(As will the remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day)

Xbox live is just too expensive. I'd LOVE to try PGR 2 on it though, I'd be able to get more Kudos too... buy more Ferraris.

If you have a PS2, and it's online ready, go for the 'Cube.

If you have have yet to experience the splendor of online console gaming, go with X-Box

If you have a PS2, but no online connection, get a Network Adapter. It will cost less, and you will have more cash for online games.

Just don't get it tomorrow since the servers are going to be down for 24 hours.

I haven't heard of any compatibility issues... I'd check to make sure that games are supported, that enough people play them and that cheating isn't a factor. If all that checks out, and if you have a bunch of games that can be played online, go ahead.

Is it really worth it? I've been debating on whether to get a Gamecube w/ Super Mario Bros. Melee, Double Dash, and Super Mario Sunshine OR Get an XBOX w/ XBOX Live and buy a router for my cable...

I heard that theres only a few games that play decently on the XL...any input?
