Actually, it's easier to remap all the blank sprites; I did it in SMO in a fairly short amount of time. There's even an extra blank 8x8 tile you can use, inside one of the water splashes. The Koopa heads use an entire 16x16 block, which is much harder to remap (graphics-wise, not hex-wise) than a single 8x8 tile.

I'll have to go through the ROM and find the blank sprite mappings again. It shouldn't take too long...

Well... It can be fixed...

Bytes deciding which tiles to use for Koopas:
9D83: Koopa standing (Head)
9D84: Koopa standing (Body)
9D85: Koopa walking (Head)
9D86: Koopa walking (Body)
9D87: Koopa turning (Head)
9D88: Koopa turning (Body)

(Thanks to mikeyk)

I'm SURE there was a fix for this. Damned if I can remember it, though.

Cut the flaming, all of you. Not everyone has heard of the CD-I. It was pretty damn obscure, after all.

And we just wanted to point out what an idiot you were being. Now all is right with the world.

That wasn't necessary, but ok.

I just want to point out what jerks you're being.

Ah, yes, it's ignorance that makes the internet good and not people by the hundreds putting up ideas from around the globe for common goals like hacking video games. Really, though, someone should ban that guy.

Edit: Ahahaha. Of course you would disagree, Shyguy, having people banned for random stupidity wouldn't be in your best interests.

Ya know? Sarcasm can continue with ignorance. So take Shyguy for example. Unaware. Dumb. Hated. Not wanted. Yet.... We don't do anything about it.

Shyguy. You must be this cool to talk.

Because the internet would be boring without ignorance.

Nice GFX. I like the Roman one.

Uh... It's an unfinished CD-i game, not a hack...

If it means one less person uses Mario 3 graphics in their hack, my work is not in vain!

I might rip from Hotel Mario next, even though the game is, to be blunt, a fucking travesty.

Very nice. Too bad that none of the koopas can be used in SMW (unless you know how to make sprites 17x32).

The reason the sprites are a pixel too wide is that apparently they were copied by hand, pixel by pixel, using TV captures of SMW as a reference.

too late, i'm already using the koopas but there's one problem:

the topright tile of the koopa head is shown after hitting a ?-block. Anyone knows the offset to fix this?

Sssh! They'll hear you... You didn't want everyone to use these, right?

Sure I do. You cut off one column of pixels.

(seriously, it's not going to have any effect on the sprite's look)
