I really like these books/movies. I read the first one when it came out, got hooked, and have read them all since then, as well as the movies when they came out in theaters. I've finished book 6 and am looking forward to the 4th movie in theaters next month. They do become "darker" as it goes on, partly because Harry gets older and partly because the audience of the book (or a large chunk of it) got older too. If that makes any sense.
Keep reading, they're great. And the movies, though different and lacking in a lot of ways, are fun too.

I've always found Harry Potter movies to be more interesting than the books. I got bored at the start of the 4th book, and I've only read bits and snippets of the series sense. I've seen all the movies, though. They are pretty pimping.

Anyways, you should download the books, too. It'd save you the money.

If i knew HP would get darker as it went along I would have never stopped at the first book. After reading the first I thought "That was cool, but a little too kiddy for me". Then I got around to watching the next few movies, watched 2 and 3 this week and was like "Wow, this looks very interesting". So then I watched the trailer for movie 4 and thought "Oh snaps! WTF?! happened to Harry Potter?" And just like that i grew extremly interested. I started the 3rd book last night, only a chapter read so far but I plan to read more today. Ive seen the movie so I already know most of what will happen but its still a enjoyable read.

I've read the first 4 books in 6th grade and I have watched the first 2 movies. I still need to read the 5th and the 6th and watch the 3rd movie.

As the films go on, more gets cut out of them from the books (can you blame them.. have you SEEN how big the fifth book is?).

It's so difficult to discuss something I love without spoiling it, after all I've watched all the films and read the 6 books released so far plus the spinoffs - Im also going to watch the fourth film on it's first night.

What you'll find is that as the series progresses it gets darker and darker. Book 6 is the darkest yet.

That's all I can say without spoiling things

Any questions, just ask me.

I read the first book when it first came out I was in 7th grade. I thought it was pretty good, but after that I didnt care much for it. I then saw the first movie when it came out on DVD because my Mom bought it. It still didnt keep catch my interest, although I did find it pretty entertaining.

Now for some reason (Probably Thoughtless XD) Ive decided to get into it. Promises of the story getting darker really appealed to me. I DLed the 2nd Movie and I found it pretty cool. I really like how the character along with the actors grow from movie to movie, its awesome. Im currently DLing the 3rd movie and then ill read the books from there, although Ive been suggested to actually read the 3rd book because ALOT goes on. DISCUSS! but DONT spoil =P
