I'm still going to have doubts until I see a video of some gameplay. |

Hmm... while I'd like this to be real, I have my doubts... however, there's some pretty convincing info here: http://www.ratedo.com/articles/z3proto.html

The problem is the NES is clearly on, ruling out the use of a DVD or computer unless the channel is set to a completely different input, or the NES is not actualy hooked in but I do not see any extra wires that would probably be revealed from a setup of a PC going in to the TV input (for you not to see a wire coming out the back of the tv to where the PC is, it would need to be situated VERY close to the TV--do you see a PC? ), and from what I can tell, there are no lights coming from the stereo cabinent below the tv, thus showing that no DVD or other such media consoles are turned on (and yes I'm aware all of this could be photoshopped out, but really, who would go THAT far? =|) |

I'm overlooking nothing. I stated ways that that photo could be real without the game being real. Like you said, until there's a rom dump, nothing can be proved. And even then, it wouldn't necessarily prove that it is an actual early version of a third Zelda for the NES, for it could be a homebrewn game or hack. |

you're overlooking the fact taht that screenshot could be totally real. just a homebrew NES game to display that image, and thats it ;p Honestly, until I see a rom dump, I could care less. |

No. Even if the image actually displaying on the TV, that's no proof that the game is real. Computers can be hooked up to TVs with the right hardware (mine, for example, has an S-Video out), and DVDs can be burned that will play in a standard DVD player to display an image.
And besides that, reflections can be faked extremely well if one knows what they're doing. That image isn't exactly high-quality, and so it didn't even have to be done extremely well.
Not saying it is for certain fake. Just saying it's not for certain real, either. |

Just noticed that there is a reflection in the floor. Does that convince you guys enough?

The novelty wore off after the second use. It's just annoying now. |

I could say that I have a prototype ROM of a game and be super-serious about it and everyone can believe me... doesn't mean I'm not lying out of my teeth. |

Looking back... I completely fail at the quotes.
Release candidate to me means essentially the production version... But not actually released to the public. Meaning... It's still not released, but it could be. |
