It all started as an innocent-enough conversation regarding superimposing Kirby music into F-Zero videos. The guys at MFO always put in their own soundtracks anyways, so it couldn't hurt, right?
So I was City Trialing around in Kirby Air Ride looking for a good music, when it hit me: The wall. An event was triggered: Rowdy Charge Tank. The premise of this event is that all four players' machines go bonkers and they blaze around the city at an insane speed; unable to slow down.
Then I remembered a little trick that you can do with F-Zero X. They call it the Speed Glitch. If you go into a race, lift the left half of the cartridge out of the Nintendo 64, restart the race, then push the cartridge back in, no harm will come to the game. In fact, there's only one noticable difference. That difference, however, is instantaneous accelleration and a constant speed of around 2000 km/h.
Then I found a way to disable the music.
Recorded a video and did some audio mixing, and now we have this handy video. I thought it was worth the time and effort. It's an F-Zero X adaptation of Rowdy Charge Tank on White Land 2 (the half-pipe course).
