It's definately not a complete hack, but there are two demos on this site. One is of a basic worldmap where you can get on an airship and switch team leaders with the select button, the other looks like the beginnings of a cut-scene. There also seems to be a demo for a PC version... so actually I have no idea what this dude is up to. |

And screens could easily be faked. While the site does hold some convincing stuff, like the NSFs, still, there's doubt in my mind that this isn't a true hack. |

Exactly! It's not real! It's not for the NES, it would probably be better off on the SNES anyway...
Gavin: concept art doesn't mean shit. I want the real thing. Otherwise it's a good as.......a black hole, or something. POINTLESS. I'm not impressed when stuff that might (but most likely won't) happen, because it leads to huge letdowns. |

I hope they translate it when it comes out. I don't like reading jap because I don't know it. I wonder what they use to make FFX? |

Chill people. That's not a fake. It's called "Concept Art", or a "mock-up". People do it all the time to test new ideas and see how it will look. In this particular case, they just wanted to show a possible overdrive animation because it was cool, nothing else. No need to go "zOMG FaEK!!1one" because of a simple image. Besides, the game is shaping up nicely. I wish them the best of luck. And i wish i knew japanese .
Edit: the Schpune mocking is because of that 'special build' Disch released along with a rom demo with a high definition image with many colors (photo quality), the catch being that it only ran in Schpune. He did that to kinda 'protest' about people whose NES demos rely on emulator bugs, not caring if the game will run in a real NES (therefore, not being a NES program at all). |

Sans that one crazy screenshot, each one could be put on an NES rom. And from what I can tell from the working sources, it might be for the PC or something. Hell if I know. But really, as bad as that screenshot is, it's the only thing that looks fake. |

Does that look cool. The screenshot are awesome. There is a game out there. I wonder if this guy is still making it. Man I want to get a hold of this guy. |

Well I decided to poke around the site and I found this pic: http://www.usamimi.info/~ff10fc/pc/png/2_254.png There's definately a couple of screens that I don't buy in there but they are definately a lot more believeable than the animated concept that's posted at the beginning of this thread. |

Have you guys even looked at the screenshot of FFX. Go to the first post, then the first link, when you get there click on the second link or the third forgot which one and it will come with a list of stuff. |

Maybe I'm confused, but what does anything here have to do with Schpune??

What the hell are you talking about? It's obvious, if you've seen anything on that site, that it's based on the NES. They have 6502 sourcecode, NSF's, and 4bpp graphics. If it is going to be a hack, it's absolutely going to be on the NES. |

So this topic is still active? Is there going to be a hack of this or you guys are talking about something else differently? |

The idea may be a bit too ambitious, but some of the screenshots are interesting, at least. I really like the .nsf of the FFX Prelude, too. That along with the recent music work on Dragoon X Omega II really gives me hope for future ROM hacks with new music put into them. |

I agree with Gavin because it is true that some of the animations and screenshots look like they could come from a NES game...but, there are also .nsf files on the site that give me even more faith that this is a truly spectacular project...
So, if the screenshots and the small .nes files don't convince you, listen to some of the .nsf files... |

why don't you actually look at the site instead of judging one shitty screenshot. .
oh, and by the way, I just found this. it's the beginnings of a game engine that with NES graphics on top. hoax my ass. like I said, they're obviously doing something.
I looked at the site. All I saw was a lot of broken Japanese text displayed as garbage. I didn't exactly feel like poking through some website I couldn't read. For all I knew it was a 404 page or something.
well no offense, and not that I care much, but by that logic why look at any page?? I mean, why would this page be more likely to lead to a 404 than any other? |

We'll have to wait until they make a full release. The 44kb nes files only contains a map having only two islands without monsters with an airship in one of them and a "maybe" infinite sea. The mapper used in that nes file is mapper 1 (saw with nnnesterj), which i think is the same as FF2 |
