"I do wish it," agreed Callean. "So long as evil stirs beneath my feet, I shall seek it and obliterate it, and bring honor to my god." The paladin prepared to follow Rad, should he decide to lead.

Rad replied, "If you wish it, we could attempt an attack into the Deep Dungeon."

Callean just sighed and hung his head. A moment passed, and he wondered aloud, "What now?"

"You are forgiven. If anyone should be asking forgivness, it should be me for attacking you in the first place."

Rad dispelled his remaining Keyblade and sat on the ground.

"Attacked or no, thou art a being of good. To brandish a blade against a companion in The Battle is to raise steel against myself," Callean explained. "Forgive mine actions," the paladin pleaded, though it was not entirely clear whether his request was directed at Rad or at the heavens.

Rad lowered his weapon and turned to the paladin. "You've realized now that you do have weakness. That is good. It shows that you're still human.

"As for preforming a misdeed, why do you think that? You did nothing more than would be expected of someone getting attacked."

The pillar of light shot down over Callean, but did no more damage than normal sunlight might. Still, the paladin squinted from the divine power, but Rad had managed to sway his perception.

"If thou art good," the paladin said softly, "Then I have performed a great misdeed." Callean dropped his sword.

Rad hopped back and watched Callean's sword pass in front of him. "If I was allied with the Heartless, you would have died the moment you started up this spire. If I was with the Heartless, I wouldn't have given you that Elixer. If I was of the Heartless, this would hurt."

Rad, dispelling both Keyblades, snapped both his hands in front of himself and cried out, "Holy Explosion!" The top of the spire was englufed in a near-blinding light.

OOC: Holy Explosion is just as it sounds, an explosion of holy energy. It cannot hurt allies of God, but will destroy or critically wound any evil being. Seeing as Rad used without channeling it through a Keyblade, it has no lasting time and a fairly small range when compared to the maximum range it can have.

Callean threw his helmet aside, and it landed and rolled out of harm's way. He looked Rad directly in the eyes and growled, "Thou hast no knowledge of me or mine ways!" He struck, but his attack was errant. The paladin continued, "Perhaps thou art of the Heartless, and thou seek to slay me for thy dark lord!" He struck again, anger propelling his sword to its target.

Having heard Callean mutter, Rad quickly moved to block his attacks and continued to speak. "My friends and master thought the same when we first attacked the Heartless. All four of us fought in the name of God, and my friends fell to the side of the Heartless. My master was forced to use his life to prevent them from escaping the Dungeon."

Rad hopped backwards and dispelled the Keyblade in his left hand. He then gripped Excalibur with both hands. "Any who are so foolish as to beleive themselves immune are almost sure to fall."

"I am incorruptible," whispered Callean, hardly audible to his opponent. The paladin raised his sword and advanced rapidly, moving in and unleashing a flurry of swift (and rather inaccurate) blows.

"Don't consider this a pointless fight. I attacked you to see how you would react, and how well you might be at aiding me against the Heartless. They are weak to the allies of God, as far as I have seen."

Rad shifted stance to a more defensive one. With a small smirk on his face, he continued. "From what I've seen so far, though, you don't stand a chance. You might even be more a threat than a possible ally. Should you not prove yourself strong enough, I will kill you, to prevent the Heartless from turning you from the Lord."

A proud man, Callean did not risk losing face by downing the liquid (though he would have appreciated its effects).

Still suspicious, Callean sought to prolong the parlay and extract more information. "Then why dost thou strike against me?" he shouted. "Thou hast no wish to kill, yet thou raise sharpened steel!"

"That's an Elixer. It heals wounds, if you didn't know what it does. As for why I gave it to you, I don't like killing those who have a chance of being able to help me kill the Heartless."

Taking advantage of the considerable distance between himself and his opponent, Callean relaxed for a moment and called out, "Treacherous one, what foul liquid fills this fatal vial?" The knight pulled the Elixer from his belt and held it up. He still made no move to even prepare for an attack.

Rad returned to the top of the spire, where he faced Callean. Rad shifted to a neutral stance, ready for either defence or attack, and waited.

If he doesn't attack me for a bit of time, and shows me, therefore, that he isn't out for blood, I might explain why I attacked him.

[Out of character - I see .]

Several moments passed, and Callean witnessed no explosion or other cataclysm centered on the thrown object. He approached the spot where he'd heard the sound from, and grabbed the innocuous-looking bottle that had been tossed by Rad.

Etched into the side of the small vial were rather simple runes. Callean recognized them as holy marks of healing. He hardly trusted his opponent after the sudden treachery, but the knight had had a good feeling about his adversary before the battle began; somewhat confused by Rad's intentions, the paladin simply placed the full vial in a vacant slot on his belt.

Callean heard footsteps, and he readied himself to continue the fight.

OOC: An Elixer refills health and mana. Rad threw it as he doesn't want to kill your guy.

[Out of character - What exactly does an Elixer do? Does it have some sort of effect, did you throw it as a distraction, or what?]

Rad continued on his way up the spire, roughly half way back up the tower.
