Looks pretty weird... No offense... It could turn out to be good work... I just never thought anyone would come up with an idea like this, though.

I agree with BMF in saying that there are too many of SMB hacks around...I personally have seen a couple hundred hacks of SMB1 that only had graphic changes.

I also agree with Celice in saying your hack is average.

Perhaps someone could try a 3-d project? Yes, this sounds very hard and time-consuming, but it would be interesting too. Of course, this would probably only relate to blocks, 'shrooms, coins, etc., not really Mario and company.

Anyways, I'll play your hack just to see what you did and how you did it

I've seen a couple atari-style GFX hacks for SMB. I think I have one somewhere...>>

I suppose your right. Those are the simplest GFX hacks I ever made anyway. I am going to make a few level and GFX hacks of other games now instead. I am done with SMB and SMW for a while.

Red and Green Koopa are entirely red/green or are they the same color (the head color)?. I ask because they behave different, green koopas fall when reaching an edge and reds don't. Another thing is that in 1-3 the background of the pits is like reddish brown and mario is red, so it will be a little hard to see where's mario. Worst in the case a goomba is in there, since it has the same color of the background

Wow, is it 1997 again?

Seriously, the world graduated beyond "throwaway" hacks like this years ago (at least, I'd like to think so). If you're going to make a graphics-only hack, at least try to make it somewhat interesting--and for God's sake, hack something OTHER THAN SMB for a change!

Actually, I think most people would agree with me when I say: Retro games on the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis and Atari will always be the best type of video games. But anyway the game is supposed to have a type of downgrade look to it.

Don't worry, the question blocks are shiny gold! Just the way they should be. Oh and I will try edit world 1 completely on SMB mono and SMB transparent today and post the new level edition demos today as well!

I like it, but it would look a lot better if the ? boxes were gold, just to clear up confusion... or are they? I can't quite tell
Oh well. I like it. Can anyone say Atari?

Well I didn't expect the game to be great or anything, I just did it in my spare time and I just decided to post it is all. I am making new levels for this and SMB transparent. Oh and the top part of the flower flashes, the tiles on a tile editor will appear the same color.
Thanks for your honesty anyway.

No offense or anything, and i don't want to sound rude, but ..i kinda don't like this one ...i'm not saying it's bad or anything. Just, kinda don't like the idea of everything being mostly the same solid color. :-S

Your first was original, but this is just average. Get to work on a level if you want to flex your creativity.

I'll make some level hacks next so don't expect more GFX only hacks for a while.

Uh. Flower? I can understand the flagpole, but uh... flower?

Seriously though, you're making these hacks old before they were even popular.

Did you note that one of his graphics hack is stickied . . .?

It looks interesting, I'll definitely give it a shot

You know... graphics hacks are underrated for a reason. Make a level hack out of that at least. Graphics alone really don't cut it if you're talking about making a quality hack. Who wants to play a hack that only took you an hour to complete?
