If I remember correctly, d4s and Nestea found the pointers to the track names. I hope they won't mind if I repost the offsets here:

--found by d4s: offset is from a rom that includes the 0x0200 byte header--
0x01CC32: Track and cup pointer table
This is the actual pointer table that points to the track and cup names; they are 2 byte pointers, with 13 pointers in all.

--found by Nestea: offset is from a rom that includes the 0x0200 byte header--
0x01CBC7: Time trial track name table
This is the pointer table that determines what track names are displayed in Time Trial or Battle Modes; entries typically go "29 tt tt FF", where tt is either a pointer or a letter or number. Entries from 0x00 to 0xDF are single tiles, 0xE0 to 0xEC use the data pointed to starting at 0x01CC32 -- the first pointer is 0xE0, the second is 0xE1, and so on -- and 0xED to 0xFE crash, presumably because the game is attempting to load an invalid pointer. 0xFF can be put in early to end a name in fewer than four bytes.

I hope this was what you were looking for!

Ok!

I already got that information. We were more searching for a possibility to have different names for every track. But still thanks for the help.

Ok!

Don't have them, might find them however. We'll be releasing a document including all offsets we found when we release our hack.

If you don't have them, don't bother going out of your way, I'll find them myself next time I decide to do something SMK-related.

All characters will have different stats... They will still go by pairs though, like in the original.
The items the computer throws will be the same but with different graphics. (For example, Bowser throws fireballs, but Don who took his place throws Coke cans instead)

Does any of the new drivers has new abilities?, i mean, they use the same speed, acceleration, slip of the original chars or they have new capabilities?. They will also throw different obstacles to the competitors? (i.e: impala will not throw eggs as yoshi does)

PS: Your hack really rocks. I've followed it from the beginning. It will be a reference to all SMK hackers of how good a SMK hack can (and should) be . i can't wait for the final release!

I remember who you are.

I will remake track graphics from scratch, I don't edit other people's graphics.
And yes, it's the Don you know.

The screens looks excellent, great spriting Stifu.
And about the Rainbow road GFX being changed, will it be a totally new theme or just revised Rainbow road graphics?

Oh, and about the Don character, is this Don Miguel from the RM2K world? (Or however it's called nowadays, haven't been there in years, I was Cobra4ever. )

You're expecting too much. Just don't bother.

Still would be helpful if he worded his questions properly.

I think he meant "What are the names of all the drivers?".

And no, we haven't found "everything" at all...
And actually, we couldn't change the names yet.
Well, we could in Time Trial, but not in the GP results at the moment, they aren't located at the same place at all... But we'll find that out.

Now I can see why all the guys at Stifu's loved teasing the crap out of you!
...If you meant "Would I be able to name the characters whatever I want?", then the answer is no.

If you meant "Are you guys implimenting new names to these newly drawn sprites?", then yes. That should've been an obvious answer due to the amount of work Ok Impala!'s put into this hack. He's found everything, and even changed the title screen! Changing the names would be a breeze compared to the things he and Stifu have done.

I don't think there would be much point, as I said... As I don't think you'd be able to view the road any better. Maybe you'd see more sky or something like that... Stretching the Mode 7 road would be bad too, if you know what I mean. Also, the driver sprites have been designed to be in a split screen, so they'd certainly look smaller...

Ok!

Thanks for the praise everyone.

As for the fullscreen story. I think it's not really possible, you would have to make everything larger...would make a complete new engine I think.

I can't believe I didn't see this sooner. Those screens look excellent! I love the individual karts.

I wonder if it could be possible to make it full-screen. I suppose it depends just how the game divides up the screen.

Ok!

I'll try to show one next time, although we're planning on changing the graphics of that course anyway...
