What, like some sort of router tester that plugs into it? I don't have access to anything fancy like that. (And there's no special port or anything on it.)
The loading and timing out problems seem to have disappeared (for now) after rebooting, but I still can't reach the config page. Interestingly enough, I get a timeout trying to connect to it (192.168.0.1), but a plain old 404 on an IP that doesn't map anywhere (eg 192.168.0.2). Also, I can get to the cable modem (192.168.100.1) just fine. It doesn't respond to ping either. |

Hm... how about a physical console connection?
Meh... uh... D-Link support? You had a good look through their website to see if you can find anything??
Meh, this is soo why I'm going Cisco/Linksys or 3Com for my next router/switch stuff. |

If it does, it's not telnet, or at least not on port 23. |

I have a bias against D-Link and Netgear. Both are generally -- IMHO -- cheap and wind up doing -- well, crap like this.
I'm not familiar with this router, and I'm not going to bother researching it. Does it have a console capability? If so, try seeing if you can find out the hardware version and stuff with that. |

I said that because I have lots of experience with D-LINK routers and I must admit, that nearly all of them sucked. I myself have a SMC router, it's not the best but it works like a charm, just plugged it in set the things up and voila, internet works. |

You're the first I've heard saying that. I reset it (unplugged it anyway), and it stopped timing out, but I still can't get into the settings. I was going to update the firmware, but you need to know the hardware version which for some reason isn't printed on mine. |

D-LINK sucks, get a better router, trust me. |

Pull the plug and reset the modem--that happens with my DSL modem periodically. Something happens and it runs out of memory and thus no network routing. If resetting it doesn't work, then I suggest getting a new router. You could look into updating the firmware if this is a consistent problem. |

I got a D-Link DI-604 about a week ago, it worked fine at first, but now things are loading really slow and I can't get into the settings (192.168.0.1 times out). |
