I did the exact same thing for Super Mario Universe, having four Renzors to beat before the level ends, but it didn't when I test played that specific level, so I made changes so that Renzors were mini-bosses for that level.

I'm sure those who may of downloaded my hack could find out what I mean until I show screens to back up my post.

SP3 = 25
SP4 = 22
Sprite Index = 0E

Now, insert sprite A9. It may look a little messy, but ignore it. Now, turn on sprite data (hex code, 5 on the keyboard). You should see the location. Adjust the X-Location of the sprite to add Reznors. In short, place four side by side, and you will have four Reznors. It'll show up in the game. There are a few quirks, though.

1. The fireballs it shoots are Mario's fireballs. Also, the hit radius is about the same size as the Mario fireballs! This gives some insight into how Reznor might have been intended to be implemented.
2. The rotating wooden block is non-existant. Just like when Reznor is shown during the enemy credits at the end of the game!
3. When the ground is supposed to vanish, the location where the blocks are located normally becomes unwalkable. The graphics remain unchanged, however. You can combat this by not having anything in that spot, although this could make having hazards a pain in the ass to do without frustrating your player.
4. Sometimes, the last Reznor gets stuck on the screen after it is killed. This might just be from having sprite buoyancy on, however.


The level will end automatically after killing four of them.

edit:oops, I was thinking you mean 'how do I can make a boss don't clear level'
well, just do what I have explained In the thread I linked you but put a goal point question sphere at the bottom

Reznor can't be used in a normal level, at least not from what I've seen. In fact, I might as well test that theory right now.

*sets up level 3 in newest hack for Reznors and points overworld level tile to level 3 and tests*

It works, but it doesn't make the level end. It did, however, make an invisible platform break away when all four of them were defeated and they spit out Mario's fireballs instead of their own. So, its partily true, you can get Reznor into a normal level with the right GFX (19 for those who are wondering), but it won't end the said level.

SMG EDIT: Forgot to note that Reznor has been defaulted to be at the top-right of screen 0, with a tiny bit of the right one leaking on to screen 1.
