Yeah, would have been very stupid of Squaresoft to release Secret of Mana with a 3-Player-Feature if you could only play it with 2 players. XD

Plus if only 1 controller is connected, all players use it.

There is no such thing as a third player on SNES 'cause there's only two controllers that could be on a SNES.

I just tried it, and it gave me a player with fiery Luigi's palette, kept increasing the star counter (), and messed up the controls (R turned into Start!). Going through a door or pipe would lead me to the Endless Bonus Gameā„¢. It all makes sense, as the game uses the Mario/Luigi flag as an index when reading controller flags, palettes, counters, and whatnot. Using an index of 02 causes the game to read "garbage" data as player variables.

Unless you're willing to rewrite a huge amount of code, there's really nothing useful you can do with this "third player."

It wouldn't be too hard, you'd just have to set a third set of ram values for that player's stats, then either use the extended port things or give the controlls to player 1 or 2 and have it traded off.

I doubt this glitch true, but, just for fun, here the ram adress for player: 7E0DB3 writing 0 give Mario(player 1)writing 1 give Luigi(player 2), If your glitch is true, It should be: write 2 give yoshi.

I've heard of a glitch where you can have three players in super mario world.
The third player is supposedly a plain green yoshi with no one on him.
Can any tell me if this is true or if it's false. If it is false is there any offset
that I can edit with hex to get three players. I am using an emulator so I won't
have a controller problem.

thanks in advance.
