Ugh. This board is fine for whatever you want to put up. People have tried putting up hack archives, but the problem is that quite a few people have put them up, and rather than running to each little site telling them to upload your hack it's a much better idea just to post a topic in a board people actually visit.

One suggestion would be to have the Finished Hack Archive open its doors to unfinished hacks as well; there's quite a few good demos out there.

That's not the same. I was talking about a single site where you could upload hacks and so on, and all the ips-files are online on ONE single site. The problem with this board is, that you have a lot of dead links, if you are looking for an older hack. You could for example take a look at zophar's domain which have a lot hacks hosted, but without any really helpful comments or screenshots.
A lot of hacks are also available in the "GoodSNES"-rom-archieve, but one time more, you haven't comments or screens or whatever about the hack.

Yeah, a forum just for posting hacks, where you could upload the hack and people could comment on them. Oh, if only a place like that existed.

I agree, and in fact I'm really wondering why no one did this already since today.

Sure would be nice to have a dedicated site where people add the game and a panel of people review it.

Damn that would be nice

Unfortunately, the majority of new hacks announced/started here are never finished, and many never even see a demo release (hence why most of us are so tired of project announcements without any screens/storyline/IPS/whatever--they're almost always doomed to fail).

Aside from the finished hack database, as yop mentioned, there really is no centralized list of available hacks. All you can really do is keep a lookout for new threads, and catch the occasional patch release before it drops off the bottom of the page and into oblivion...

the super mario world finished hack database, a stickied thread near the top of the board... maybe?

I've been frequenting this website for quite sometime, and I cant seem to find where all these super mario world IPS patches are located.

This board has alot of authors posting screens, but with nothing to keep you posted.

Are most of these games in progress?
Where can I download this stuff and give the author credit for a good job?

thanks guys
