Usual way to sign contributions is to stick 4 tildes (edit: not 5, my bad) in a row, i.e. something like

--~~~~

gets automatically changed into your username (linked to your user page) on the wiki and a timestamp.

You could just add the words to the bottom

If you wanted to edit part of an article that you didn't make, how would you put your time stamp for editing it? Would it be necessary if the editing was major?

I added categorization to the How To Page. I categorized the pages that werent. I also added a link to all the articles on the home page.

That's cool. I didn't know Wiki table were that powerful.

Right now I'm toying around with the Faxanadu page. I've also started NES_Games as an example page that should be created and extended for each console. Links to those pages should then go onto the main page.

Thanks, the Zelda 3 stuff was mine. I'll add more later, just need to get it all properly formatted and all, and I wanted to take a break and play through Fatal Frame 2. It would be nice, though, to have some sort of actual index, but I suppose the search bar will suffice for now.

I get off downtown, them catch another bus to I'm better than you. If you're around long enough you'll learn I'm rude and you're stupid.

I am looking for clarification on the copyright for the information on WikiRAM. http://www.infinines.net/wikiram/index.php/WikiRAM:Copyrights is empty. The GNU FDL (http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html) link is missing, so I assume you intend some other license. Public domain would also be appropriate, but please state so if that is what you meant.

Might be an idea to use Categories to group the pages - then you can have a link to the Category page in the navbar which would at least make browsing a little more intuitive.

Click around, and you should be able to find a link called special pages. In special pages you should be able to find All pages which will give you a list of all pages. It does lack forum navagation. Why? Its not a forum thats why. If your looking for something, search for the name of the game. To whoever posted the Zelda 3 data, bravo! You did a nice job.

Kawa: I am going to move your data.

Make sure when you guys post, be sure just put the name of the game, then make a subsection of what your posting. That will allow everyone to add to one article.

am I completely overlooking something, or does WikiRAM lack much of anything in the form of navigational tools? Is there a sitemap or an index anywhere?

Thought I'd just stick yesterday's SMB1 data in it...

Thanks labmaster. I will add that to my how to guide.

HyperHacker: If you are supporting something else, then I have really no response. However, if your supporting WikiRAM. You stated everything that WikiRAM does. People can add, edit, search

Right, we'll all just post our information here. Then a few months later, someone can just come and look at the thread listings and... oops, it's buried under thousands of threads of all different subjects with no real categorization. Oh well, they can just use the search and... oops, there isn't one.
No reason for me to continue reading your post, as your argument kinda falls apart here. You know as well as I do that there IS a search, it's just not available to normal users and is slightly buggy, but, it's going to be available to normal users soon and the bugs are being worked out. This was stated.

Hey, maybe my post was stupid. Maybe I wasn't clear with my use of the word "potential."

Let me say it another way: I have loads of data for Final Fantasy VI, but right now I'm in the middle of another project. When I'm done with this project (as well as another small one that I've been putting off for a while), I'll get my notes together and upload them. Hopefully, by that time, someone will have made a standardized way to organize the pages so that it can be useful. But don't hold your breath--my notes come from various sources, and the level of detail is quite high in some places. Right now I'm in the mood to do hands-on hacking, so when I've exhausted that energy the documentation process can begin.

Yeah, because posting your opinion on something is totally wrong and uncalled for! I hope they learned their lesson! Giving feedback on something... HA!

I'll add some stuff this weekend (or whenever I have time), as this is a great idea, people have wanted a rom-hacking wiki-type thing forever.

The above link is still loved, though not as used as it needs to be. I hope this takes off a bit better though, the idea is behind it is sound.
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
