To edit them, just create an image of your own liking, and paste it into whichever tile editor you use OVER that level tile.
BTW, are you using EggVIne and YI hacking too?  |

Thanks for showing me how to relocate the images but I really want to know how to edit the appearance of the images, not rearrange them. |

Erm, take a look at mine:
This is what I had. It's not there anymore, as it wrecked my hack. But you basically need to extract the graphics with Ycompress, then move the icons around to your liking, and reinsert. That's what I did. That should be all there is to it.
BTW, make sure your YI ROM has a header  Good luck!

Is there any way at all I can edit the level images on the map screen in Yoshi's island. I haven't seen any edited images on any hacks.
