Introduction
For those who don't already know, after romhacking.com went down, I started complaining that it was a big loss to the scene and we had nowhere to point newbies to etc.. Well, you know the saying.. 'Quit complaining and DO something about it'. So.. I have taken the liberty to revive Romhacking.com because quite frankly, it seemed as if nobody else would.
This certainly stretches me a bit thin, but I wasn't going to let a cornerstone of the scene waste away. Now with the whirlpool gone, it is even more critical. There is desperate need for a new community site, one that can help unify this broken, spread out scene. It's time to bring people together again and it's time to have a scene news site that isn't dying or dead. It's time to breathe a bit of life into this stagnant scene. Maybe this site won't change anything, but there's a chance it can. There's a chance of bringing people together. There's a chance of slapping a little more life into this scene. That's a chance I optimistically want to take.
The Idea
Romhacking.com is going to be more than just a file and document archive. It's going to be a community oriented site. It's going to have your documents, utilities, and patches, and it's also going to have a database of who's active in the scene and what they're doing. Naturally, it's going to have a message board. The idea is to bring people together. Too many people out there would like to offer help or need help, but don't know of each other. A database of who's in this community and what they doing and what their skills are, can help bring the word 'community' into it's meaning.
