Try lowering the number of colours to 256 with another program before importing the graphics into RPG Maker. This might make the graphics lose less quality.

All the graphics must be 256 colors.

Hey. I need help when importing graphics in my RPG maker 2000/2003. When I upload my own custom ones (Not the kinds you get from the internet), RPG Maker converts it to 256 color mode and it sucks. But when I view the ones I get from the internet or the RTP, it seemed to be in 16-bit or 24-bit color mode! Is there any sly and sneaky way to pass this color conversion. It's ticking me off bad and that prevents me making resources...

So in other words, any tips on how to make graphics that doesn't get color converted when you upload it via Resource Manager? Your help is appreciated.
