Playing SMB on a NES with cousins, and once i linked GBA SuperMarioAdvances with this kid on the bus, it was fun stuffing eachother in the trash can... ahh, gaming rules

Good memories:
Ccontext: I first got a NES in 1989 (Hey, in Chile things arrive late,
my dad brought it right from USA when he travelled to work in there;P)
- Playing SMB (and Duck Hunt, the 2 in 1 cartridge)
- Playing River city Ransom. (Damn, that was the funniest game
i've played for nes. The faces of the guys are just too ridiculous
)
- Playing Zelda, my first experience on an RPG (or cuasi-RPG)
- Playing monster party. I like so much platform games with bosses
(and the main char with energy that can be recovered, not like some
games that when touched it's an instant death (except SMB, that one of
the few that i like))
- Playing a rented MM2 (my first MM game that i played, strange that
it was MM2 and not MM1)

Bad memories:
- Been far too disapointed with Silent Service for nes. The most
boring game that I've ever played
- Playing Wizard and Warriors. I just got passed only 2 or three
level, Then i got bored.

I see that plenty of people mention SNES and GB games. I think I'm
getting old

PS: I don't know why my posts get messed up when posting with firefox (Tables are broken, even if i only use
)

I´ve never had any SNES so I don´t know how durable it is.

I know that a NES is quite durable too.

I'm a General Gaming mod, I would HOPE you knew that

Ramadan Roy: SNES is the most durable system, period. I have owned two (an American and my first, a Japanese SFC) and both worth like they did the very first day, controllers included The NES was alot less durable..and the Famicom...well, not as many problems as with the FDS, that stupid belt..

ME TOO!!!

Occassionally I'll take out the controllers and look at the black cords that have been nibbled through. The snes controller cords were too firm.

Possibly my earliest memory was in Texas when I was 4 years old and my brother was playing Megaman 2. Even well into the snes days, I never got tired of watching him play. He was always teh ownz to me and always listened to my suggestions.(if it was a 1 player game) Now we never get time to play like that because we don't need to. For some reason, now it's just watching each other play and if we really get stuck then we help each other out. (i.e. MGS 3) Good times, good times.

Ooh, fabio, your current post count says l33t

Anyway, my fondest memory is probably Duck Hunt. I remember I didn't have the gun, and I was trying to shoot the ducks with my controller. Then it didn't work, and I'd get mad and yell at the game. But then I got a gun and I was happy. The end. ... seriously, thats it. I did enjoy SMB3 though, it rocked

Now I have an emulator (who honestly doesn't?) and I can relive all those memories

Let's see, here's a few gaming memories:

SMB1: I couldn't beat that game when I was little. I always warped when I got to 4-2 and skipped to World 5 because I couldn't beat 4-4 because the game doesn't make a noise if your going the right way or not. Because of that, I couldn't make it past 7-4.

SMB3: Annoying level I couldn't beat would be the fortress level in World 8, it was too confusing.

DKC 1-3: I couldn't make it to the end of the game by myself. The only reason I beat these 3 games is because when I rented them, they were already at the last boss so I just fought the last boss as soon as possible. I never played these 3 games from start to finish.

SMRPG: Sucked at this game when I first played it, I had no strategies when fighting bosses.

That's all for right now.

Hmm, I thought of that too but I didn´t think you played dating sims.

I started with the Intellivision and Burgertime. I remember saving up $100 to get the NES when it came out. Not a simple task when you're six.

My fondest memory and longest time only playing with one game is: With my Game Boy Camera.

I just LOVE it. Period.

I'm still missing red and yellow cams, I'm happy with european, japanese and american ones, (I own two european ones).

I´ve played a few and they´re pretty entertaining.

And I think that tattoos hurts differently from person to person.

SMB3, I remember because it was just fun as hell. World 8 was always the bitch though .

SMRPG I remember most of all because I've replayed it over and over, and I keep coming back to it.

Disgaea taught me that games can be funny, and also horribley time consuming.

My fondest, though, is when I played the Tokimeki Memorial series..those were and to this day are my favorite videogames, ever Playing them the first time was incredible for me..

Is that an anime RPG series? Because that´s what I got when I searched for it.

Do you know if there are any translated games?

That I know, no there are not. And, this makes me very sad because I'd love for more and more people to be able to play these games...maybe some day Konami will re-make them for the Gamecube or PS2 maybe (even though some of the later games are already for the PS2^^ Which is sort of why I hope something like that could be for the Cube because even though I have PS2 too, the GCN NEEDS a sure hit, especialy these games and the SFC got one anyway so its nothing ENTIRELY new for Nintendo).

I always used to play Metroid Fusion on the can. Now the smell of feces reminds me of the game.

Yeah. The sense of smell can revive long forgotten memories. Most of mine are linked to video games.
One Lynx body spray reminds me of Final Fantasy 7, while another reminds me of Final Fantasy 8.

I remember first playing Goldeneye at my friend's house, and a few months back, a smell reminded me of that.

An overheated SNES console reminds me of Terranigma or Secret of Mana sometimes.
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
