I think that Winamp 5 is pretty decent. And it has the DiskWriter plugin.
At first when I heard about Winamp 5, I was skeptical but I got used to it.
Seems like we tunred this thread into a Winamp discussion.  |

Well, at least in Winamp 2.x/3.x it is free - and already in Winamp included. Why including a plugin in a free version then, if the plugin itself costed money  ?
On the other hand I dunno about future versions like Winamp 5, which never will come on my system and I simply cannot get off that nice version 2.89 which uses hardly any resources and starts up in about two seconds. |

Yeah, but DiskWriter isn´t free either, is it?
I downloaded that version with DiskWriter for free on their website but I don´t know how the hell it´d could be free when I did it. |

One time I had a burning need for an MIDI to MP3 converter and Googled the living hell out of it. Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that any decent converters aren't for free.
