Maybe I should start adding in some javascript in my layout to force IE to use alpha-transparency. lol

NOTE: I now have a seemingly random background, and I edited the transparent PNG images.

I definitely don't see what you see.. the bg is light and makes the text hard to read, and really doesn't fit the layout well. But I guess now we know the problem?

I'm re-doing it to be even better as part of a possible series of annoying layouts.

My point exactly. But now it seems to be gone...

The signature was made to deliberately annoy people. There's really nothing there to scroll down and look at if you've seen it once. ;o

My biggest complaint with scrolling layouts are those that do not provide anywhere near enough space in order to read what people are writing, consider SamuraiX's when he quotes someone, it's horrendous jumbled to try and read.

Yeah, I didn't think Maxthon supported alpha-transparent PNG files. Now we know for a fact it doesn't.

Personally, I like the way your quotes look in the IE engine. They don't look right to me with the BG coming through like that. Maybe if there was less transparency... 'Cause in that screen, it looks like your quote just has a border around it, and no BG.

The sig looks fine, except where the text is, since it too uses that alpha-transparent image.

Oh well. As long as you're happy with it, and it's readable, right?

BTW: Nice Windows skin. *steals*

I'm using Maxthon, which is based on the IE core. The devs are trying to fix the various problems with IE that MS ignores, as well as adding in features MS ignores, like tabbed browsing.

I wasn't sure if they'd added support for alpha-transparencies in PNGs, but I guess they haven't yet. Of course, I am using an older version... *shrugs*

Exactly what I use.. It's alpha transparency in which you can see a color, yet see the background through it. :p

EDIT: I downloaded your browser you talked about. Here's a side-by-side difference of what it looks like between your browser and my browser.

Opera

I am guessing that you are using Internet Explorer, right? If so, I use transparent PNG images in the background and it just doesn't look right in IE. However, I did change the text color like you suggested. :p

I only used a scrolling layout because the background would look like !

Anywho.. I had to quote so I can showoff my blockquote setup.

Certainly not the worst scrollbar layout, because it would take a lot of writing to make it scroll. Simple enough, neat.. it's nice.

Scrolling layouts should be outlawed... other than that, I like the background.

And you can't read anything in your sig. The text should be darker. Try using #808080 for the sig text color.

you could get rid of the scrollers. The size is bearable but could be shrinked a little . Other than those issues it's fine.

Aside from the fact it's really big, it's pretty good. At least people won't have to worry about scrolling if you don't post too much.
