Couldn't you just go to a page of Map16 that you want to get rid of, and load a page of Map16 over is, then save? That would probably be the easiest way to overwrite them. |

It is important that I destroy the backgrounds in my hack, I have 2 different hacks with the same background and the current one I am working needs to be totally different and does not mimic the other hack with the same backgrounds, plus I am running out of space in my map 16 pages do to screws up by me when inserting new backgrounds and trying to get them to work right. do you understand why I need to get rid of those backgrounds and clear up space in the map 16 page files ? |

Well there's no immediate way to hit this or that button and all map16 pages are clear, but you can find one of those normally null tiles, left click it, then right click over every single tile in the pages x10 and up manually.  No way to "destroy" the backgrounds, you'll have to manually remake every one of them.
So to answer both of your questions, it can only be done manually. You don't really need to replace old ExGFX files with blank ones, just delete them all and insert ExGFX into rom. I *think* that will clear them all. Does it really matter if you do this?  Because I would just make a new BG for a level and just not use the old ExGFX file anywhere else. |

Is there a way that I can (DESTROY) every single background that I inserted into my hack and clear up old files to make new room in the map 16 pages ? if so do I need to replace the old ExGFX files with new blanks ones ? |
