Marlins. I only say this b/c I've been by their side since the team first started back in the early 90's. But yea, chances are they'll choke, but yea, I'm sorta used to it anyway. I'm just happy that they didn't choke around the All-Star break.

And when Rocket is on the mound, that's three more losses.

Games lost while Clemens has pitched: 8, 5 of those by shutout.

The Cubs own Andy Pettite, and I see 7 games left, that's two outtings by Andy, and two by Clemens. Can we say 4 losses?

The Astros are also hurt, but that goes without saying, a lot of teams are hurt right now.

The Phillies don't know how to win on the Road, Braves already won the east, Nats are as offensively anemic as my precious Twins... That leaves the Marlins, who have Willis, and not having a second-half slump for a change. What else do they got? Won't matter, the Cardinals will open a can on all of them. World Series trip round 2 for the Cardinals.

The Marlins, Mets, Nats, and Phillies all have to play each other, while the only good team the Astros have to face is the Cardinals (And they only have to play them two times.). It'll be close, but I pick the Astros.

The series the Astros have left to play (winning record teams in bold):
Phillies (3 Games), Brewers (6), Marlins (4),
Pirates(4), Cubs(7), Cardinals(2)

Total, Only 9 Games against winning record teams, with 17 against losing record teams. A favorable schedule.

Phew, at least I'm not alone.

And hey, 2 games back with around 25-26 to go... that's not exactly the biggest margin in the world. Hell, 2 games back with 6 games to go is plenty do-able. Whichever of those wild card teams can get a 5-6 game win streak going can control their own destiny.

NATS BABY

Good pitching, pretty decent hitting, and one huge chip on their shoulder.

I still think Washington will pull it out.

I don't want to see the Expos become this much of a success this soon, but I'd prefer them to the other alternatives.

Marlins will choke down the stretch.

You're off your rocker if you think the Mets have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the Wild Card. Marlins are struggling, Nationals are struggling, Mets have no bullpen, Astros have no run support, so by default, it will go to the Phillies. Although I'd rather see the Cubs win it.

Well, there's an AL wild card thread, so here's the NL.
